It's a small town, but with a good number of shops and landmarks to explore. We only stayed overnight, but did explore a little. There's a handy Tesco and petrol station near the railway station.

Generally quite like Llandrindod wells, some parts better than others. I especially like the lake area. The Llanerch Inn is a nice pub with good food. Next time I would avoid staying near a pub on a weekend as it was very noisy until 2.30 am at the pub opposite.

I really wanted to write about the Hotel (Hampton Hotel) and the reception I received. I knew I was going to arrive very late: I estimated 11.30, so I phoned forward to apologise. Reception closes at 11.00, but I was told I'd be in Room 6, how to get there and where its key would be. It worked beautifully.
Llandrindod Wells is a neat little town, but I was only there to sleep before going to a dog show at Builth Wells: about seven miles away. The area is hilly with narrow winding roads: very pleasant pasture farming. I'll have to go again, and I will.

The hotel was perfect for my one night stay which was to enable me to attend a disco at the nearby Royal British Legion Club. As I was a lady travelling alone I did not want to drive the hour's journey back home after midnight. The best recommendation I can give is that I have already booked two more night's for the same reason.

The lake is well worth the visit and within the grounds are a cafe and boats for hire as well as a sculpture mid-lake, the Rock Spa Park is worth
a visit for walking and tasting the water.
Whilst there is a train connection it is very sparce, but there are bus services to the coast, Breacon and Hereford.
Good variety of small shops and cafes.

Brilliant location for an event we were attending at the Pavillion. Free parking. Lovely large, spacious room and bathroom with everything we needed. Bed super comfy. The owner Andrea really looked after our group. Free room upgrade as hotel wasn’t full. Gorgeous views from our windows. Lovely food at great price. Bar costs were good for a hotel. Breakfast delicious. Late check-out with no extra fee. We would highly recommend. And would definitely stay again.
Room Asked for ground / lower room No on 3rd floor upstairs (disabled) My room had been allocated to someone else. The hotel had been emailed re my later arrival ( the room itself was nice.)
Time as M6 closed due to “body” on motorway .
I had a nice meal even though it took just over an hour to arrive !
Have used this super dog friendly hotel for the last 10 years. Nothing is too much trouble, so accommodating.
Food is lovely. Super dinner choice, a la carte ( you pre book your choice). A fabulous hearty full English breakfast as well as buffet.
Highly recommended.
