The room was a good size with an excellent shower and a comfy bed and was very quiet. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar area was nice and they do a wonderful pizza. You can pick up extra sachets of coffee for your room from a basket in reception.

A warm welcome from our host Angela set the tone for our visit.
Our room was a quiet room to the rear with a compact but spotless ensuite. Two easy chairs and a plentiful supply of tea and coffee with milk kept in a fridge downstairs
Breakfast was excellent with thick bacon and tasty sausages and lots of mushrooms !
Angela went above and beyond with a call to let us know of a forgotten item so we could pop back to collect it.

There are some interesting buildings and places of interest to visit-the castle for example.
Sadly parts of the town are rather run down but it still has some inviting looking eating places.
We ate at the water witch on the canal. The food was good and value for money

Charming historic city with lots to see and do.
Charming historic city with lots to see and do.
The city is home to two universities and has over 20,000 students staying at any time so the city is vibrant diverse and appealing.
A stone throw from the Lake District and Morcomb so a really great base for moving about but a wonderful city to move in with an abundance of enjoyable attractions, a central bus station to attractions and a main railway station.
Lancaster is a really wonderful city.

Very conveniently located for access to the M6 motorway, into Lancaster itself, into Morecambe but also inland into the countryside.
Rooms are the usual fare – clean and tidy but long corridors and a bit soulless.
Food is good.
Remember to register your vehicle registration otherwise you get a parking ticket. We weren't told this and have had to appeal against the ticket. If we lose it's a £100 fine.

I went to university here.
I went to university here. Lancaster is a handsome Northern city. NOT particularly pretty but with lots of architectural interest. The food at 'The Merchants' and 'The Quarterhouse' is excellent - and contrasting. It needs good restaurants and both of these are, in there own way, remarkable. Jay Rayner did a fantastic review of 'The Merchants' in The Guardian. He was right. Brilliant food in a nice setting right in the middle of town and also amazing value. It is 'pub prices' for really sophisticated, but 'wholesome' food. BOTH MUST survive, please.

I lived in Lancaster for almost 20 years and I love it.
I lived in Lancaster for almost 20 years and I love it. I still live locally and I went to the hotel as a reward/treat to myself after a significant loss in my life. Lancaster is quite a compact city which is crammed with history and culture and independent shops.
The place was compact, clean, well-maintained and is in an excellent location. The city centre, the castle, eateries, and stores are just a minute away literally. Loved the ambience. The property owner Mr.Joe was very helpful. The laundry that's next to the property is relatively cheaper but is a good addition. I would have preferred to stay here for the whole duration of my visit to Lancaster if not for the unavailability of rooms. If I am ever visiting again, this is going to be the first on my list. Joe - Good work.
It's the ideal place to stay if one is visiting Lancaster to attend an event at the University. The campus is surprisingly quiet at night. Despite its propinquity to the M6, I found the traffic noise less disturbing than experiences I have had of staying in the city centre. The room is fairly spacious and adequately equipped (it's functional, not luxurious).
The staff were lovely and most professional and polite. The hotel is in a lovely rural location but is well used and convenient for Lancaster Very nice comfortable decor.. Really dog friendly place.
Food excellent in both taste and value for money. Room so comfortable and very well presented. Absolutely spotless.
We particularly appreciated the reception team, who could not have been more helpful. Patricia was a real star. This is an excellent hotel to use as a base for visiting the historic city of Lancaster. Great parking, comfy rooms & a lovely breakfast too. A five minute drive from the M6 makes it easy to access.
Lancaster House Hotel is a very comfortable, unpretentious hotel. It’s a very cosy and feels very relaxed. I had a huge room, with a large bathroom (with bath & shower), exceptionally comfortable bed and lovely views. It was quiet and calm - both appreciated after a very tiring day at work.
