As we had travelled south from North Yorkshire, the location was ideal for our purposes of an evening event in North London. The room was a good size and adequately furnished, beds were comfortable. Provision of tea and coffee was good.
Staff were very pleasant, booking in was quick and easy.

Theres nothing to dislike at this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great in town centre with free parking.
Short walk from Norton Common park, with black squirrels in abundance. Not ever seen a black one before, so new experience to add to my stay.
My room was clean with plenty of condiments and had a bath, with plenty of hot water, something you dont find often.
Breakfast was included, small breakfast menu plus continental table, catered for everyone'.
Morrisons is just next door if anything was needed.

Hotel Cromwell Stevenage was once a farm house and home to John Thurloe, secretary to Oliver Cromwell. The property is close to the A1(M) and just 10 minutes’ drive from Knebworth Park.
Hitchin is a really nice place. The church is gorgeous and looks so good at night. The local people are really friendly and even the teenagers have manners. If you like walking or running, there is a lot of open space nearby and some nice little trails of you prefer biking.
There are a lot of little boutique shops too selling things you wouldn't find on the Internet of you are looking for gifts.
Hitchin is a good base of you are wanting to go to Duxford for the air show, or if you are wanting to explore Royston and the Templar cave. There is a mix of architecture spanning the different periods in history too. If you are hungry, there is a wide choice of places to eat from restaurants to take aways. The Bodrum does fantastic kebabs, and the Town Frier has proper seaside fish and chips.
The Sun Inn does some really nice food, and the bar is really quiet, but the staff are first class.
I've not had time to explore everything due to only being here through work, so I can only describe where I've been, but I love what I've seen.

Hitchin was a lovely vibrant placed that we wished we had more time to explore.
There are a lot of varied restaurants, in the town to choose from, which were reasonable priced for most people’s budgets.
The atmosphere of the town and shops were welcoming.
We look forward to our next visit to Hitchin.

Hitchin is a lovely market town.
Hitchin is a lovely market town. Some of the shops have closed down since my last visit, which is a shame, but the pubs and selection of restaurants is outstanding. The atmosphere is always great in Hitchin and the people are extremely friendly.

Hitchin is a great vibrant market town with an abundance of independent places to eat and chill. There are also the major chain places to eat and drink if you are a little less adventurous. There are plenty of open spaces and playgrounds for the little ones. You can sit in the town square, relax, have a drink and watch the world go by. The locals are friendly and happy to chat and help. The train station is nearby and you can be in the centre of London in under an hour.

Lovely old market town with historic buildings, very grand looking church and a large interesting looking market. Quite lively at night and easily accessible by train but station is a mile or so walk from the centre.
After reading the reviews during my stay, I was so glad I didn't read them before staying.
Yes there is need of a lick of paint etc but it's over 300 hundred years old.
If you want modern then stay at your Travelodge/ Premier Inn etc
This hotel has character, it's clean and comfy and the situation is perfect, right in the middle of Hitchin.
The staff are helpful and lovely and I will be returning.
It was also -1° when I stayed and the hotel was lovely and warm.
I felt so welcome and comfortable. I love the fact that it is a family run business - you're made to feel very special and your needs are completely met. The hotel has such a lovely atmosphere unlike so many of the faceless, clinical hotels I've stayed in. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you so much for making my stay so wonderful.
The location was perfect for central Hitchin. There was enough parking and it was inclusive of room price. The staff were polite, but run off their feet at times. The bed in Room 12 was comfortable.
