Gretna Green is a lovely place to visit and it a short hop from Gretna Food Hall to Caledonia Park which covers tourism and some excellent retail therapy. Plenty of choice of where to have a snack or meal as well and plenty of toilets available in Caledonia Retail Park.
Caledonia Retail Park has a plentiful selection for clothing for all the family, cookware, bedding, sportswear and gifts in short something to satisfy most needs.

There are some beautiful little quaint shops in Gretna Green site ( and a shopping outlet nearby which unfortunately we didn't get the time to see as was passing through on way home from holiday)
We loved listening to the Pipers who even played Highland Cathederal for us. As well as getting to see a wedding which was beautiful. Understandably some things are a little mire expensive but the history of the place and traditions was lovely.

Gretna Green is a lovely place.
Gretna Green is a lovely place. We stayed in two Hotels on two separate nights. Sorry cannot endorse a stay at Solway Lodge. The Gables was very good and we will stay there again on our next travels ti Huntly to see my sister.

Staff were all friendly and just darn nice people.
Staff were all friendly and just darn nice people. People that like dogs are the best and these people liked ours. The best dog friendly location we have stayed in. The evening meal was really good too. The hotel is very good, but on the cusp of needing some TLC. We only stayed one night travelling from Somerset to Inverness, but I would think it would make a good wedding venue.

We stayed overnight at the hotel as it was the halfway point on our journey from Kent up to the far North of Scotland. We had a lovely family room which was clean and comfy. Staff were all really friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Gretna Green is a beautiful place with lots of history. Shame we were only passing through this time, would have liked longer to explore but we were on a tight schedule due to sad family circumstances.
The room was well equipped with iron, ironing board, luggage rack, hairdryer etc. The breakfast was excellent - the only thing missing from breakfast was fried bread. Room service meal was also excellent. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help with anything we requested. There appeared to be lots of weddings going on while we were there, but we weren't disturbed at all during the night (apart from the usual hotel noise)
Lovely location, close to Gretna Green. The hotel room was clean and nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable. Food was very reasonably priced, and good sized portions.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Very pleasant stay.
Convenient location, close to Gretna Green.
Friendly, helpful staff. Dog friendly for a fee.
Really comfy bed and bedding.
Generally good value, basic needs catered for, great place to stay for a few nights :)
Lovely warm hotel, good shower, large room, no complaints. Breakfast set you up for the day. Just a short walk from the outlet centre and Gretna Green centre. There is plenty of free parking.
