On arrival met by really helpful and friendly members of staff, accompanied to our room which was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We ate our evening meal in the dining room, the selection of homemade meals was really good and to a high standard. The waitress Sophie looked after us really well and was again on duty in the morning where we received a cheerful greeting.

We have been here once before and were elated to stay here again. It is the most beautiful little cottage, in an idyllic situation. The room was very big, it had tea/coffee facilities etc, tv, wardrobe...everything you would expect really. The bathroom was lovely too. The breakfast was so tasty and plenty to eat. Caroline was an extremely welcoming host. All in all a fabulous stay and highly recommended...hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future. Thank you xx

There are some beautiful little quaint shops in Gretna Green site ( and a shopping outlet nearby which unfortunately we didn't get the time to see as was passing through on way home from holiday)
We loved listening to the Pipers who even played Highland Cathederal for us. As well as getting to see a wedding which was beautiful. Understandably some things are a little mire expensive but the history of the place and traditions was lovely.

Staff were all friendly and just darn nice people.
Staff were all friendly and just darn nice people. People that like dogs are the best and these people liked ours. The best dog friendly location we have stayed in. The evening meal was really good too. The hotel is very good, but on the cusp of needing some TLC. We only stayed one night travelling from Somerset to Inverness, but I would think it would make a good wedding venue.

We chose this venue for my Daughter's wedding and reception. It was amazing. Guests travelled from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Wales, Blackpool, Manchester, London and New York. They all loved it. The staff were so helpful, nothing was a trouble to them and every one of them helped make our day more memorable. Thank you all so much.

Gretna is a tourist trap but it's beautiful.
Gretna is a tourist trap but it's beautiful. The blacksmith's cottage attraction is well worth a visit and so is the cafe and food hall. Just outside Gretna is the Station Pub which is an excellent option for evening meals, drinks and socialising.

Location of hotel good as it's just off the M74 - really handy when we're travelling down south, room very clean and bed really comfy - we have stayed here a few times now and the staff are always friendly - added plus is the books for sale for charity (as I love reading - so it's good to get them really cheap and contribute to charity)
This is a basic hotel that's geared for wedding .the acomadation is basic but very clean and comfy ideal for stop over ,as we did to start our tour of Scotland
