Ramnee Hotel, hotel in Findhorn

Set in an Edwardian mansion, the 4-star Ramnee Hotel features leafy gardens and a traditional restaurant. The hotel is located just outside Forres center, adjacent to Grant Park.

The accommodations are outstanding. There is plenty of parking if you have a vehicle. The property is incredibly well kept and exceptionally clean. The full Scottish breakfast was a perfect way to start each day, and the restaurant’s chef prepared a fantastic menu for dinner as well! Having a few pints and a good scotch selection was a definite plus. You feel like you are stepping back in time in the best way possible. The staff is incredible and made our stay one to truly remember. Stuart is an absolute gem, and had the best recommendations for things to do and see in the area. The staff truly treats you like you are part of the family. There are lovely walks to take and the gardens on and near the hotel are gorgeous. This was by far and away the best hotel experience I’ve had in my life, and my wife and I can’t wait to come back someday. Staying at the historic Ramnee hotel was worth every penny!

Blervie House, hotel in Findhorn

Blervie House enjoys a location in Forres, 30 miles from Inverness Castle and 14 miles from Elgin Cathedral. There's a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

If I could give this an 11 I would. The room was super comfortable , private, quiet, spotless, great bed with an incredible bathing area. The owners were more than friendly;they made us feel welcome and genuinely cared. After several days when we needed to leave VERY early to travel Graham met us personally at 6 am to help us with our bags. Breakfast was served family style… this was a true inn. The area is just far enough from a small town to give the feeling of staying in a real Scottish estate. If you’re going to the Speyside area, this should be your first choice.

The Old Mill Inn, hotel in Findhorn

Located in Forres and within 23 miles of Inverness Castle, The Old Mill Inn features a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi.

Exceptional on every aspect. The owners are friendly, professional and pay attention to small details. It was really the small things - the tasteful decor, comfortable bed, clean/crisp linens, 4 bottles of waters, free supplies in the bathroom (toothbrush, tooth paste, shower caps, soaps, shampoo). And then the food - was delicious! The presentation of breakfast and dinner was impeccable. Food tasted Michelin star. Overall experience was comparable to a five star hotel.

The beach there was beautiful with a bay that went round in almost a circle. It was popular with dog walkers. It was cold and windy on the day we were there, but I would imagine on a nice day you could sit on the beach. Beautiful views all round. Close to a nice pub where we stayed which does very nice food which is good value for money. The beach was very quiet and had a nice calming atmosphere.

Findhorn is a beautiful place with stunning views of the sea and nearby forests. You can walk miles on an almost empty beach and enjoy great food and a huge selection of drinks at the Crown and Anchor.
