Great staff, comfy bed, lovely breakfast. Good atmosphere and nice pub for a few pints. Staff went out of their way to make sure we got our bags delivered as was doing a baggage transfer for the dales way. I really enjoyed our stay.

We love staying with Sue and Les. Everything is well run and comfortable. We appreciate the fruit salad with the hearty breakfast, and I don’t know how it could be better than it is. Love Dent, love Dent Stores.

This was my third stay at The Black Bull. It was my best stay yet. Special thanks to the wonderful staff, especially Laura for going above and beyond. I can't wait to come back to visit again.

This is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed in. Our dog was more than welcome and was treated as well as we were, even getting a sausage for his breakfast.
For our evening meal, of special enjoyment was the haggis starter, served with black pudding and a poached egg. It's really lovely and I recommend it.
The landlady was lovely, friendly and welcoming.
Barbon is gorgeous, an all round delight.

Dent is a small quiet village with just a couple of pubs, a cafe, shop and bistro (I think!) Only one pub does food and the bistro only open certain days. The cafe and small museum is open daily as is the shop. The village isn't too big so easy to walk around and admire the quaint little cottages and take in the history. There's a really pretty riverside walk that's flat and easy accessible and for the more seasoned walkers there's plenty of hills all around the village. The roads through the village are quite narrow in parts - even for cars.

Sue was very considerate about our late arrival, she made us feel welcome.
Our rom was immaculate with comfortable beds.
The breakfast was absolutely superb.
Sue was very informative about where to visit as we didn't know the area very well.
There is no parking in the village but we were given a free parking pass for the main car park which is just 3 minutes away.
The surrounding countryside was stunning.
