Great staff, comfy bed, lovely breakfast. Good atmosphere and nice pub for a few pints. Staff went out of their way to make sure we got our bags delivered as was doing a baggage transfer for the dales way. I really enjoyed our stay.

We love staying with Sue and Les. Everything is well run and comfortable. We appreciate the fruit salad with the hearty breakfast, and I don’t know how it could be better than it is. Love Dent, love Dent Stores.

Barbon Inn, hotel in Barbon

Located in Barbon, 20 miles from Trough of Bowland, Barbon Inn has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 3-star inn offers room service and free WiFi.

This is the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed in. Our dog was more than welcome and was treated as well as we were, even getting a sausage for his breakfast. For our evening meal, of special enjoyment was the haggis starter, served with black pudding and a poached egg. It's really lovely and I recommend it. The landlady was lovely, friendly and welcoming. Barbon is gorgeous, an all round delight.

Dent is a small quiet village with just a couple of pubs, a cafe, shop and bistro (I think!) Only one pub does food and the bistro only open certain days. The cafe and small museum is open daily as is the shop. The village isn't too big so easy to walk around and admire the quaint little cottages and take in the history. There's a really pretty riverside walk that's flat and easy accessible and for the more seasoned walkers there's plenty of hills all around the village. The roads through the village are quite narrow in parts - even for cars.

Lovely village with cobbled streets. Two nice pubs (One with meals, Sky sports and a pool table, the other more drinking). Plenty of walks in the area. Nice cafe. Local shop. Dent vampire is worth visiting on the church porch floor. ( Read about it on the Dent website) Museum (But didn't go in)

Sue was very considerate about our late arrival, she made us feel welcome. Our rom was immaculate with comfortable beds. The breakfast was absolutely superb. Sue was very informative about where to visit as we didn't know the area very well. There is no parking in the village but we were given a free parking pass for the main car park which is just 3 minutes away. The surrounding countryside was stunning.

Beautiful village with cobbled streets set in the Yorkshire Dales. Make sure you reserve a table in advance if you plan to eat at The George and Dragon. Getting setting for walkers and Yorkshire Three Peaks
