Blackwell Grange Hotel, hotel in Darlington

From the moment you catch a glimpse of the wonderful 1693 Georgian façade, you know you are somewhere special.

Breakfast good - would be better to have more than one coffee machine to avoid queue and a larger selection of fresh fruit

Holiday Inn Darlington - NORTH A1M, JCT.59, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Darlington

Holiday Inn Darlington North has free Wi-Fi, free parking, quiet bedrooms with king-size beds and power showers in each room as well as a mini gym for exclusive guest use.

Good staff and decent food. Nice bar/patio area. Considering it is right next to the A1M and a junction, the rooms were pleasantly quiet. Whilst location means it's never going to be a holiday hotel, it is a good choice and a cut above for an overnight, short stay en-route or for work/business in the area.

I used to live here so only visiting family, unless you are here for the railway heritage there is not a lot to see in the town, but it is like most towns that we visit empty shops a sense of depreciation everywhere.

It was beautiful with lots of interesting history & it's got beautiful grounds which would be beautiful in the summer so can't wait to plan another trip to The George in the summer time. The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The only negative I have is we had to ask about information about meals etc but the staff were more than helpful

It's cheap and cheerful. Stayed here numerous times over 7 years and naturally looking a bit 'tired' (aren't we all‽) but basically a nice hotel in a super location. Spacious free car park. Good bus service into the town centre. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and kitchenette available if you bring your own food, although a very decent chain pub/ restaurant literally next door. As a budget hotel, I would recommend.

The single room with private bathroom is nice, well furnished and has a comfy bed. The shower in the bathroom is amazing. Jamie is a kind host, makes your stay even nicer. It's a great place for people who don't want a luxury stay. Very good value for money in Darlington. The hotel has a very clean kitchen to be used by guests (and free milk as well!!).

This was our second vist to the Mercure Hotel in "Darlington" and it was not great due to the fact that there was so much noise when we was trying to sleep with people banging doors and someone even tried to get in our room, so after a poor nights sleep we were not happy.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Fantastic restaurant. I was in a West Wing room which was fairly basic, but very clean and perfect for my stay. The price was also very good (cheaper than a Premier Inn)
