Very central. We were attending a concert in the town which was a two minute walk.
Parking on site. Parking is limited in the town and this sealed the deal for us.
Get away from it all at this hotel high on the side of the Black Mountains, overlooking the Usk Valley and the surrounding hills

The wagon was perfect, it had everything we needed for a quiet weekend and was lovely and warm when we arrived. It's in a perfect location for peace and stargazing, with plenty of walks in easy distance. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

We did the hike up Pen Y Fan with a large group of friends earlier in the day and then stayed over at the Bear afterwards. Everyone in our group booked their accommodation individually, however the Bear were happy to arrange a large table for our group and we pre ordered our meals ahead of time. We will definitely be back!

A delightful country town amidst superb scenery.
A delightful country town amidst superb scenery. It has history, plenty of places for refreshment - coffee, fish and chips and the Bear Hotel which is excellent and has to be visited for it's architecture alone ! Also a couple of shops that are outstanding including a magnificent hardware emporium plus an interesting art gallery/ Information centre.
A first rate introduction to the Brecon Beacons

Crickhowell is a lovely country town with some very nice shops. If you like walking it's perfect. It has a stunning old stone bridge spanning the River Usk.
There are a number of attractive pubs in the town.
All in all, a perfect place for a few days away for adults.

Great place for a sto off on a motorbike trip around tha Brecon Beacons. Shame that there was no slot for us for an evening meal, but The Old Rectory did fantastic burgers and beer.... but no triple room as required.
Excellent breakfast at a little cafe on the high Street!

An excellent 2 night stay in January when the weather was cold but dry so the fires in the bar were much appreciated after a long walking day. Our room was large with a comfy seating area, fabulous thick curtains and the heaviest cushions I have ever encountered. All felt very cosy. The breakfasts were superb - great choice, freshly cooked for you and totally delicious.
Crickhowell is a lovely town and the surrounding areas great for walking and exploring.
An excellent staging post on a business visit to West Wales, but also would be a marvellous location for a longer stay in the great landscape of the Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons. Very helpful and friendly staff, good range of tasty choices for breakfast and comfortable bed. We will definitely stay again when in the area.
What a gem of a place, suitable for all our needs. Secure garage underneath to keep our bikes. Lovely walks nearby, we climbed up to Table Mountain. The town has some lovely pubs, I can recommend “The Bear” for food as well. The people were welcoming and the accommodation warm and clean.
