All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I found Scottish people to be very friendly. They engaged with the children as well. I know that the intent was to keep the original charm of the property as best they could. There were some quirky things about the room. No big deal.

The staff were incredibly friendly. Even after breakfast hours were over they gave my 3y.o. son a couple of mini muffins. They gave us recommendations and advice on how to get around. Overall incredibly helpful and kind. Especially Sarah! I asked her a dozen questions I think and she was patient and informative.

Nothing to attract a visitor and no amenities that we could find. Too far from Edinburgh. A typical working class town, clean and functional. The people we met were great, friendly and welcoming and were the major positive of our stay - the local cafe we found was great, the owner was delightful and made us feel very welcome as did her customers. Felt like home (I grew up in a similar town in the South).
