The owner was courteous and good natured. He accepted our deposit using a Visa credit card as full payment so that we didn’t need to give up any cash. The breakfast was ample, delicious we and specific to each person (they took orders). We enjoyed walking in the surrounding yard and greeting the cows across the street. The stay was very peaceful and relaxing.
With a contemporary design and a cozy atmosphere, Clandeboye Lodge is just 5 minutes’ drive from Bangor. There are beautiful landscaped sculpture gardens and the stylish rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Our room was very comfortable and the furnishings were without blemish. The hotel itself is very welcoming and much more homely than a certain more famous one a few miles closer to Belfast. The staff were both friendly and efficient at all times.
Just outside of Belfast city with the center only 20 minutes’ drive away is the Ivanhoe Inn and Hotel. Boasting free WiFi and fresh cooked breakfasts, the Ivanhoe also has free on-site parking.

To be honest, I did not spend that much time in Comber itself. There are so many other places to visit in the area. Belfast, Strangford Lough and peninsula, Downpatrick, Newcastle, Mourne Mountains within easy driving distance.
Comber was still a little bit quiet, with the lockdown just lifting. But everyone I met was very friendly.
A good basis to explore a large part of Northern Ireland.

Lovely town with good amenities, we had a lovely meal in one of the local restaurants. Comber is not far from Newtownards which is larger with more shops and more to do, Belfast isn't that far away either.
