Breakfast was fantastic with a good range of food on offer, we especially loved the 'papple' juice and the meats were brilliant quality, all fresh and local.
The room was cosy, blinds kept it nice and dark for a lay in and the hotel was quiet. We also loved the espresso machine in our room for a morning coffee in bed before heading down the breakfast. Check out time was generous.
A relaxing Elizabethan Manor House which maintains its character and architectural features, with a great oak door giving access to the reception

Excellent bar and restaurant and really friendly staff. Lovely atmospheric bedrooms with all facilities. Exposed beams everywhere, some creaky floorboards and quirky old doors - keep your head down going through some of them as people were much shorter in the 16th century!! Plenty of parking and good internet connection. Ideal for visiting Symonds Yat, the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.

Delightful hotel, wish we could have stopped longer.
Delightful hotel, wish we could have stopped longer. Little touches like blankets for sitting outside, umbrellas for walking back to the rooms, board games to play were very thoughtful. Lots to see around the area. We couldn’t eat in the hotel as it was fully booked but ate at the pub next door which was very good.

As we were staying to attend a wedding at Clearwell castle, we didn’t get to use the facilities of the hotel this time but were impressed with what we saw. The room was fine , plenty of comfy bedding towels etc and nice bathroom
Everything, the cottage was beautiful and well equipped. Very quiet and peaceful. Close to Clearwell Castle which was great as went there for our nieces wedding. Just loved everything about it.
