Paddock View, Castle Combe, hotel in Castle Combe

Paddock View, Castle Combe offers accommodations in Castle Combe, 8.6 miles from Lacock Abbey and 14 miles from University of Bath. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.

Our stay couldn’t have been better. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need—towels, kitchen utensils, bath essentials, even a first aid kit. We spent Christmas Eve there, and there was a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. They also left us chocolate and a bottle of sparkling wine as a gift. To top it off, the owner was incredibly kind and gave us a ride to the nearest town after checkout since it was a bank holiday, and we were unable to get an Uber.

The Old Library in Castle Combe is such a fun and memorable property! We were greeted by peacocks on arrival, setting a whimsical tone for our stay. The accommodations were spectacular—more spacious than expected, with plenty of cozy spots to relax. The upstairs bedroom is a delight, with high ceilings, charming bookshelves, and a super-comfy bed. The kitchen combines modern amenities with a charming farmhouse feel. The hosts went above and beyond to address a small issue, making us feel truly cared for. Highly recommend for an enchanting stay.

The White Hart Ford, hotel in Castle Combe

This traditional English pub features olde worlde charm and luxurious modern features like free Wi-Fi and White Company toiletries.

Loved the quaint feel to this place. It was charming and welcoming with the fire in the restaurant and had a lovely homely feel to the place and our room. Staff were lovely, very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Our room was outside the main reception/restaurant area in a little place across the road on the ground floor which was great for our luggage. We could park right outside the door. There had been an electricity shortage and our heaters weren't on but we didn't need them. We had dinner at the restaurant which was beautiful. Breakfast the next morning was nice. Ordered hot dishes from the menu and cold dishes were set out on a large table.

Castle Combe is beautiful and small.

Castle Combe is beautiful and small. We ended up doing a 3 mile circular walk which was great. The buildings are very pretty but it is such a small village you won't be there for long if that is all you have come to see and if the weather is bad, you will struggle to find many indoor alternatives. Having said that, the coffee at The Stables was good and the pre-ordered picnic was very tasty and as I said, the village itself is very pretty.

The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip.

The hotel and the surrounding area are well worth the trip. We stayed in one of the cottages which was renovated to and excellent standard maintaining original features. The gardens are interesting. I declined to be shown to the cottage but would recommend being taken to the one given as the allocated one was not obvious.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself.

The Hotel is not in Castle Combe itself. It is a short drive away from Castle Combe up a very narrow one track road. The hotel is wonderful and we had a great dinner meal there. Not so fussed about breakfast. We did not want a cooked breakfast and the breakfast bar itself could have been improved.

One of my favourite locations in all of the UK, I have not been back in 29 years and the village has lost no charm at all. Hot chocolate and cake from a friendly gentleman in the village was perfect on the wet day that we visited.

Great location, huge comfy bed in upstairs room of the cottages, exceptional cooked breakfast, with continental options included if you want, with fruit juices, coffee etc available to help yourself to. Staff are wonderful. Evening meal delicious. They can cater for gluten free and vegetarian. We really love this place, it was our second visit and we will return. Good walks in different directions - to Castle Combe or Slaughterford for example
