The Old House Inn, hotel in Burstow

Situated just 10 minutes’ drive from London Gatwick Airport, The Old House Inn features free on-site parking and a mature garden.

Dirty room, non-existent water pressure in shower. Weird barman checking us in, and radio with loud music from the room next door preventing a good nights sleep - even though the room was empty. Also, my dog found a screw in of the corners of the room that she almost swallowed. Manager told me I would get a refund, which obviosly did'nt happen. Avoid this place like the plague.

Personable service and extreme efficiency in dropping off and pick up from airport, plus car stored safely within a compound next to accomodation. They provided a very nice packed breakfast for us to eat at the airport and also bottles of water in our car when we returned. Little things like this make a difference.

Sofitel London Gatwick, hotel in Burstow

This 4-star sustainability award winner hotel is linked to Gatwick Airport's North Terminal by a short, covered walkway and easy connections via monorail to the South Terminal.

The hotel has quiet rooms, really comfy beds, a nice bar downstairs, very great breakfast with nice coffee, really friendly staff, nice gym with free-weights and running machines. Also the hotel is really convenient if you have an early departing flight or late arrival. I would recommend to anyone who needs some rest in that area as you don’t need to leave the airport as it is connected by a tunnel. Also the best hotel I have stayed-in at Gatwick, as others just aren’t as nice and you have to get a Shuttle bus to many of them or walk for 10 minutes.

Burstow is a small village near to Gatwick Airport - close enough, but not so that one is bothered by aircraft noise. It is an ideal place for a night's stay before travelling from the airport, being about a fifteen to twenty minute drive away. There are three or four pubs / restaurants within about one mile.

The staff were friendly but the food was appalling and room was very shabby. The sheets were clean but no tea available & the coffee machine not working. Left before breakfast service and no alternative offered. Don’t go there.

    I didn't really like anything.

I didn't really like anything. I wanted a comfortable place for one overnight before leaving from nearby airport in the morning, where I could also get an evening meal. I should have stayed at the airport.

We were attending a family gathering.

We were attending a family gathering. Travel to & from the venue was straight forward & there were a number of local places to stop & visit. The food at the accommodation was so good that we continued to utilise & eat there. Plenty of other restaurants nearby though.

Considering we are in a difficult time with the coronavirus, Staff at the Curious Pig in the Parlour made us very welcome, especially our receptionist. She made our stay perfect, anything I asked for she helped us. We decided to eat our evening meal in the hotel, we had our car with us but decided not to go out in the evening. Although we had not originally booked a table for our evening meal, the staff they made sure we could get a table. We decided to eat outside in the gardens. The food was exceptional, we decided to eat there again the second night. We are definitely planning to go back.
