Excellent location and even better hosts. The breakfast was superb and they even provided an alternative bread because of a seed allergy. Plenty of room for parking and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Mini fridge and drinks facilities in the room were much appreciated. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them

Easy check-in, staff were lovely. Upgraded to a front, bay window room, with lovely views, for no extra charge. Didn't have evening meal, as we were booked to go to a nearby concert, but food we saw looked excellent. Good nights sleep, very peaceful. Superb breakfast. Will certainly stay again. Thanks.
I cannot fault this little gem of a hotel. I travel around to check out hotels etc. I rarely call any hotel a little gem but this one ticked all the boxes. If you want to treat someone to a nice meal that is reasonably priced and amazing then this is the place to go. If your in wales on holiday then do not miss an opportunity to stay here. The Thai food was so authentic.

Nice little town.
Nice little town. We enjoyed our meal at the Indian Ocean restaurant. Particularly as we could take our own drinks. Very friendly staff there. Willing to accommodate. We also enjoyed the friendly pub/bar next door. The drinks were competitively priced, with a great atmosphere.

I would highly recommend this peaceful, romantic lodge in the woods. It was idyllic - slide the large glass door open to feel totally immersed in bird song and the sounds of the lake and forest. Gorgeously furnished inside and out, lit in a soft, welcoming way with neutral colours and lots of lovely tactile textures. Well equipped - absolutely everything thought of for the self-caterer. A friendly host who gave super instructions, an invitation to contact her with any questions and even checked we arrived safely. A one night stay but felt as though I’d been there for weeks :-)

A lovely little town with a bit of everything for everyone.
A lovely little town with a bit of everything for everyone. We ate lunch outside a cafe in the town which served excellent food. We walked along the riverbank and footpaths. We had a takeaway from the Chinese which was delicious. Parking in the high street can be a bit hit and miss but there is ample parking in the main car park. The shops are varied and there is some great browsing to be done. The local area has some stunning views too on the hillside and outer areas. Very good choice for a short break.

It's ny home town, I was born there so live being there the people are wonderful and friendly would certainly book the room again. I spent time with family abd friends and visited the local area, I grew up in
Beautiful Setting with amazing, experienced hosts. We were made to feel very welcome here. The room was immaculately clean with premium facilities. We had two early starts, the hosts accommodated early breakfasts for us, which we were very grateful for. David cooked the breakfast to perfection. All ingredients were of a high quality. Small bottles of Welsh water in the room was a nice touch. Close to the Royal Welsh showground, very convenient. Highly responsive to emails and requests
We loved everything... the setting was so very picturesque, our spacious and well appointed room was light filled and had the most amazing views! The bed was super comfy. As our breakfast was delivered to our room at the precise time we'd requested, we had a small dining table to eat at. The food was tasty and plentiful, all home cooked including the bread. The hosts Jane & Richard were delightful. Should we ever return to Builth Wells, we know exactly where we'll be staying.
We particularly liked how friendly everyone was. We had an overnight stay with our 2 spaniels and were prepared to leave them in the car whilst we ate, however we were allowed to eat in the bar area with the dogs present, which was ideal. Also a good dog walk or them over the road from the accommodation. Room was good size, beds comfortable, and quiet, Food was also good. Would stay agoin if in the area.
Absolutely everything, from the moment we arrived. The river is a stones throw away, then we walked into the lodge - perfect, home from home 👌🏻
We had our two Border Collies with us too (at a Championship Show on Royal Welsh Showground) Mahoosive paws up from William and Jaxon too 🐾 💙💙 🐾
