Loved the location, quiet and peaceful.
Our room was simple, but comfortable.
Although no formal breakfast was offered ( we were aware of this prior to booking) the kitchen area was fully stocked for us to help ourselves when even we wanted.
The host was very friendly and most helpful in planning our adventure for the day.
We were very happy with our stay and would definitely return

A small Lake District market town with local shops and a 'stately home' in whose parkland one can walk for miles along mown paths. Lovely to see people sitting outside in the market place enjoying the recent hot weather. There is a one-way system for traffic as the roads are quite narrow. Plenty of space for parking when I was there.

Broughton is a charming, tiny, market town that has kept its farming character, unlike some Lakeland neighbours. There is everything the tourist most needs, but it feels like a real working town, not an overdeveloped honeypot. It has spectacular views over the estuary of Duddon Sands and is very convenient for the delightful Duddon Valley and Coniston Fells, one of the best parts of Lakeland for the visitor.

Broughton in Furness only has three pubs and both the King's Head and the Black Cock Inn are the two best ones with exceptionally high quality food. The village itself is tiny and is a step back in time as it's so old-fashioned - especially the Black Cock Inn as it's so cosy, ancient and charming. There's another pub 3 miles up the road in Broughton Mills that's even older than the Black Cock Inn - The Blacksmith Arms or something like that - and that's well worth checking out too !!!

Great stay for a few days. Comfortable beds, cosy feel. Lovely village, local bakery, pubs within a few minutes walk, great base for driving to Buttermere and Coniston. Bread, milk, biscuits and drinks available on arrival. Parking on the road right near house. Shop opposite. Variety of games to play, plenty of kitchen amenities. Nice big towels and extra bedding if needed. Friendly neighbours.
Small but cute home
I think the property was incredible! You were provided with many different facilities including cooking equipment and cleaning equipment. The spiral staircase added a unique touch to the property. The property was out of the way of main roads and only a 15 minute drive to pubs. The owners are so lovely too!
The quirky character and charm of Brock cottage. Easy access to the key - providing you're sent the code by Booking.com! The neighbours dog and cat greeting us. Proximity to the lake district, and then walking to the pubs at the end of the day.
Location. Lots of walks around area. Beaches not to far away, great for our dogs. Pub dog friendly. Food delicious. Staff very helpful and courteous. Village has petrol station, butchers, greengrocers...2 more pubs, cafe....lovely place.
It was a lovely little village with two great pubs and other amenities available. Plenty of parking available. The apartment was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything needed to cook our own meals.
