Amazing hotel, draped in history. Immaculate room and bathroom. Lots of little touches like a fridge full of complementary soft drinks and little bottles of fresh milk. Also the most divine homemade shortbread under a glass closh. Breakfast too was delicious. Staff friendly!! What more could you ask for.

A busy town and lots of traffic.

A busy town and lots of traffic. Worth exploring, but I didn't have the time, other than looking at the old jail. Good mid-way stopping point if travelling further into Cornwall. The hotel served a very good breakfast and the evening meal was well prepared: the lamb that I had was beautifully cooked. The options for puddings were mainly cake-based and personally, I found my meringue option a tad sweet (as one might expect) with no pouring cream to calm it down!

It’s looking tired but it’s the gateway to lots of other places. Plymouth is within reach maybe 40mins by car. The prison has the attraction of the museum with guided tours which are great fun The prison, now hotel is absolutely wonderful. Great gala night for new year with the best food ever. The Bodmin folk are so friendly and will advise on where to eat to suit your budget. The Eden project is a great trip to make even on a rainy day. Was visiting a sick relative in the hospital & hotel very convenient for that. Have always been in transit elsewhere so didn't know the town well. So attractive and clean. Very friendly people who readily helped direct or help in other ways. I have relatives who came from Probus and Devonshire so visited both counties from 1946 onwards and think changes by and large sensitive and well carried out. The beauty of the county and rural nature has been largely preserved and if controlled population increase measures are sympathetically controlled, the character of the county ought to be preserved along with its beauty.

A great experience, the renovation work is amazing throughout the hotel! We only stayed there for 1 night but we would have liked to have spend more time. Comfortable beds, and a great spacious bathroom. Great breakfast options. Would be great to have gluten free options in the room service menu.

The little cottage was easy to find and the instructions to get in via a key safe were very clear. An extremely well equipped and comfortable cottage. The big bonus was the little seating area outside where we had breakfast. We met the friendly little dog a couple of times at breakfast - very well behaved and sweet. I would stay here again if I came to Bodmin. We met the owner who lives next door. She was lovely and very helpful with just one thing we needed to check up with.

This is a ground floor en suite room with its own entrance. There has clearly been an effort to fit the room out to be comfortable. It was clean and there were some thoughtful touches, like chocolates and local information. It is close to Bodmin town centre.
