Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.
Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.
Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.
North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.
Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
The city is absolutely beautiful. We only stayed for a night but we wished we could stay for longer. Definitely recommend if you can just walking the city - there are so many beautiful sights to see in bus. Really straightforward to get from the airport to the city. Thermae spa is worth a visit but recommend going during the day so as to see the view from the rooftop pool. The number 1 crescent museum was our favourite part of the trip so interesting!

Bath has a wide range of activities for all visitors.
Bath has a wide range of activities for all visitors. Great food choices, beautiful architecture to enjoy and perfect to walk everywhere. There’s plenty of history to discover and a variety of venues to do this. We loved Cafe Lucca for food and Walcot House for drinks.

Attractions like the Roman Baths and the Cathedral are very expensive. Visiting Bath leaves one with the feeling of being exploited.
Driving in Bath is a nightmare with roadworks and traffic lights everywhere and the clean air charging is excessive. It proved difficult and costly to take someone who cannot easily negotiate the walk to the supermarket.

Midweek break before Christmas, so lovely festive feel.
Midweek break before Christmas, so lovely festive feel. Beautiful buildings, and everything in walking distance, we did all in 2 days. Plenty of bars, restaurants & tea shops. Beautiful cathedral and Roman baths all situated in centre, everything close at hand. Nice shopping area, and fun to ramble through the lanes, lots of character little shops. What's not to like about Bath!

This was our first visit to Bath - what a beautiful place.
This was our first visit to Bath - what a beautiful place. We started our trip with 2.5 hour walking tour led by Richard M. Our guide was interesting and very knowledgeable - an excellent start and it was free! We also visited the abbey and the Roman baths which were both fascinating. A visit to the Everyman cinema was amazing - what a wonderful cinema experience. We had lovely cocktails at the Hideout - served by two very friendly and knowledgeable waiters. A beautiful, friendly city, with so much to see and do.

We were in Bath over the last weekend of the Christmas Market. A little crowded, to be expected, but we really enjoyed our time. We found a little place by the Royal Crescent called Circus. I would really recommend.

Just returned from a wonderful 1 night stay at Francis Hotel Bath. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, with a special thanks to Gemms who made my partners birthday a special one. Location was perfect and hotel was everything as described. Room was spacious , clean with a very comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was very tasty in a with a wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to staying here again.
Really good location, very friendly reception staff.
The cleaning in the room was not great, expecial in the bathroom. I could see mould and dirt all over the shower wall. Also the spa is not the best, doesn't offer too much and the pool area needs some refurbishment. Is annoying that the kids have limited time to the pool, the weekend we were there I could see lots of children in the hotel, but the time for them is just a few hours.
Perfect location in a beautiful street and very close to the main city centre, but still relatively peaceful and quiet. Staff was very friendly and took care of a package that was delivered to the hotel before my arrival. The room was beautiful and the bathroom very luxurious. There was a snack pantry where we could grab something to eat
train station just across the road Tim on reception was very helpfull if you want a breakfast in the hotel it is best to do it when booking your room as they only have limited space but plenty of bars and restaurants but not cheap best place for a breakfast is Bills Place in centre of the town
