The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Stewart on the front desk was so welcoming and kind and the waiting staff were so lovely. Our room was beautifully set up and some chocolates were set out along with a little note wishing my partner a ‘happy birthday’. And the bed… the comfiest bed I think I’ve ever slept in.
The breakfast was absolutely stellar, couldn’t have enjoyed it more if she tried. The setting was fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed watching fish jump and cows grazing in the field across the way. Honestly it was just so lovely.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. Facilities were great too and use of a fridge in the room is an excellent option. The property is in a nice quiet location and the host of the property was amazing and took care of every need and request. The breakfast selection was very good and thoroughly enjoyed.

Lots of places to walk, along the river bank, up the hillside to the tower, or just around the towns.
Plenty of variety of places to eat or shop.
Easy to move around and visit local sights, except when there is a big storm which tends to flood some of the roads, so I would avoid them if it is possible at all to do that?

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner out on the Friday evening, Italian Mama Mias in Banchory was great fun, upbeat, great staff and food. We had booked the hotel for Friday evening as a bolt hole stop prior to attending a family wedding on the Saturday. We had also contacted local hair dressers Riah Hair long before arriving. The staff at that salon were lovely on all counts, with great intentions BUT I would not recommend them for wedding guest hair styling. My hair clips fell out within a few hours and my daughters curls that took an hour to set, dropped within the first hour of leaving the salon despite copious amounts of awful hairspray being applied. :(

Banchory is a small town with plenty of good shops and supermarkets on hand. It is an excellent central base for exploring the area from Aberdeen to Balmoral and Braemar. Plenty of walking and cycling routes available for the more energetic.

I love a stay at Banchory even if just for two nights.
I love a stay at Banchory even if just for two nights. You feel that you are away and can relax. recharge the batteries so to speak. the view of the river just makes it that bit better. Glass of wine in the bar reading my book before dinner is a bonus.
Great staff and welcome - lovely room in the main house which was recently refurbished very comfortable bed clean bathroom good shower exactly what you’d expect from such a lovely hotel
Great location!
We stayed here as we were attending a wedding at another location in Banchory. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic!
