Very friendly owners who went out of their way to make sure everything was right. Excellent location and beautiful room. We'll certainly stay there in the future if we revisit the area.

Everything, what a lovely place to stay. We decided on an overnight stay a few months back, we have only stopped in the village in the passing so we decided to stay overnight. We were graciously welcomed to the premises by Helen who took the time to explain a bit about the building and the facilities in the room they had, where breakfast was served and appropriate times. We were pointed to local restaurants for our evening meal and given all the options depending on types of food available. Once we had eaten and a few drinks later we retired to the room which was warm clean and comfortable. We loved the whiskey in the room which was a lovely touch. A coffee machine in the room allowed us to make a coffee before heading for breakfast. Breakfast was simply delicious, a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast certainly set us both up for the day. Thank you for a lovely stay and a great memory. We will return at some point for sure.

We just had a short wander on a beautiful day around the village. And it was later in the day.
Cafes seem to close around 3.30/4pm on a Saturday. The flowers around were just perfect. . We were looking for an evening meal. We thought the places we saw were too expensive.
So sad to see the War Memorial had been defaced by purple paint. No respect.
Overall it is a beautiful place and liked that parking was close by.

Ballater is a lovely little town, very close to the Balmoral Estate so excellent location if you are planning to visit the Castle and grounds of the royal estate. It has an excellent selection of restaurants, coffee shops and boutique / gift shops to choose from. Free parking in most places and some lovely walks that are all clearly marked that follow the river and circulate the town.

Ballater is a beautiful historic town.
Ballater is a beautiful historic town. It has lovely architecture, a Victorian train station where Queen Victoria used to travel to. Lots of restaurants, pubs, and the townspeople are very nice. It's close to Balmoral and was a perfect location to drive around and see the sites.
The hotel was all you could dream of for a stay in Scotland. The building, setting, and indoor decorations were all beautiful. The rooms and hotel facilities were plush and comfortable. The staff were lovely, and the food was gorgeous. The hotel is dog friendly.
Great and well equipped cottage in beautiful Ballater. Fab location for exploring the surrounding area and the little town has all amenities you need. The hosts are very accommodating and communication was very good. We would definitely go back.
Property and room were spotlessly clean and well appointed. Located in the middle of Ballater within easy walk of all amenities. Hosts were friendly and accommodating too. They even booked a local hotel for my meal. Will definitely return.
The Alexandra Hotel was wonderful!
Everything was just fab!
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The evening meal I had and the breakfast on offer was amazing.
The staff were super friendly and very welcoming.
Location is great in the center of Ballater. Both the facilities and the rooms where amazing and breakfast was stunning with a service that you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel
