Great location! We had a top floor room with very comfortable bed. Great to hear the water as you drift off to sleep. It’s right across from the harbour. Bus stops right outside to take you to St Andrews or Edinburgh. Super kitchen well stocked with cooking gear and spices, teas etc. Fresh flowers in the kitchen and bedroom were lovely.

Even after the wait - I loved the breakfast - went for the pancakes, eggs & bacon with maple syrup. It was immense. Location is also pretty cool - 5 minute walk to a great harbour with lots of really cool local amenities

The Inn is a lovely cosy old pub, in the Fife village of Kingsbarns near to St Andrews and the fishing villages of the East Neuk. The property is community owned and we received a very warm welcome. Gorgeous wee village in East Neil, one of the most beautiful areas in Scotland. Lovely shops near the harbour, and easy walking distance of the equally beautiful villages of Pittenweem, St Monans, Crail and Cellardyke

I visited Anstruther specifically for a boat trip to The Isle of May. The weather proved to be excellent for us and the trip I would recommend to anybody interested in Nature and specifically seabirds like Puffin, Arctic Tern, Cormorant, Shag, Guillemote, Razorbill and so on. I was there for 2 nights in a lovely B&B (Brackness House) which was within 5 minutes walk of the harbour meaning we had no need to seek parking (which can be an issue at busy times). Anstruther is a beautiful little fishing port and I will re-visit probably as part of a walking holiday on the Fife Coastal path. We ate at the Dreel pub on the one evening. A fabulous warm welcome and lovely food, though a bit limited for my wife who is a confessed fussy vegetarian. I found the meal to be a little expensive at first but have since learned about the tax issues facing small businesses in Scotland so have revised my opinion about the costs. It certainly was not over expensive and I would happily go back. We ate the second evening wotha takeaway from the Wee Chippy on the harbour front. Again lovely food, a little more expensive than I was expecting, but again, not massively so and probably reflective of all the local prices. I would happily recommend both the Dreel and Wee Chippy as places to eat.

The walks in this part of the country are stunning as are the beaches if you get the weather! And there's never a shortage of good places to eat. If you have a furry friend, the majority of the shops and restaurants are pet friendly.

Typical of this charming part of Scotland, quite unlike anywhere else. Lots of little known corners of interest. EATERIES aplenty Kellue Castle, Crail, nuclear bunker, coastal path, Fish market live, Crail raceway for stockcars, Kingsbarns beach, St Andrews etc all nearby plus Bass rock trips, fishing....

Anstruther is a lovely and lively little town in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. It has a very picturesque harbour, good eating places, including the wonderful and award-winning Anstruther Fish Bar, a number of interesting shops and a well-stocked Co-op. It is within easy reach of other lovely little East Neuk towns/villages, including St Monans, Pittenweem and Crail, and the university town of St Andrews, which is a must for visitors to the area. The RNLI shop at Anstruther harbour has a really good selection of little presents to take home to loved ones, including the iconic yellow wellies for little feet!

Cosy little cottage, ideal location for accessing anstruthers and St andrews. Kids loved seeing the animals. Tea, coffee, sugar, and milk there on arrival. Owners also left some cider from their orchard . Log burner fire was lovely on chilly night
