Breakfast was lovely. Room was great. Decor was amazing. Elijah was extremely welcoming and asked the chef to cook us some chips despite kitchen being closed. Even brought us bread and butter.

The key was in our cottage door when we arrived. The cottage was well equipped and we had everything we needed during our 3 night stay. The lounge looks onto the courtyard and it was nice to see the various farm animals when they were nearby. The location, approx 9 miles from York and Knaresborough in either direction, was very convenient for exploring the area.
Skipbridge Farm Glamping offers a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 13 km of York Railway station and 15 km of York Minster. The accommodation has a spa bath.

A lovely hotel in stunning grounds, well located for York, Beningbrough Hall and Fountains Abbey / Studley Royal. Staff were pleasant and attentive, hotel has a lovely terrace with lawn games including Croquet which we enjoyed . Food was delicious and the long hours for breakfast were much appreciated.

Make sure you get a room with view over the grounds and not with a noisy kitchen fan a couple of feet away that wakes you up at night.
Had two diners booked but after first one cancelled and ate in York instead. We would have gone to a local pub but no food available locally on a Monday night.
Make sure facilities are open if staying in 2022 as new Spa being built and Golf course being extended to 18 holes.
Would work as a corporate away location

We were left completely disappointed with our stay at Aldwark. On arrival we struggled to find the car park as there were no lights. There was a lot of building work going on and no signage to the car park. We then had to take our small child and luggage through the dark to the hotel. When we arrived at reception the staff were abrupt and unhelpful. Telling us that the Kitchen and Spa were closed. We didn’t ask about these things or needed to know but we felt as though we were being told off.
The room was lovely, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. The toiletries were very good quality and the bathroom was clean.
Breakfast was another let down. The waiter got our drinks wrong, twice and then gave us toast that was so burnt it was inedible. When we asked for more we received two pieces for three of us. We asked for further toast and it never arrived. The breakfast menu was very limited and most things require a supplement, which we were very disappointed to see when we’ve paid so much to stay. My daughter ordered pancakes which were so stale we couldn’t cut them! She gave up with breakfast and just had juice.
We were going to use the pool and facilities for a longer stay, but we decided just to go home as we all felt flat and disappointed.
On check out the staff were again rude and we just couldn’t wait to leave. A complete disappointment to what should have been a lovely treat.

Small village, with a very nice small church.
Small village, with a very nice small church. Lovely walk through the golf course and over the toll bridge. Very good pub, the Aldwark Arms, good food. The Aldwark Manor Hotel with spa and leisure facilities and golf course.
Everything was faultless. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. We only had a booking for one night but immediately booked a second night because the hotel was that good!
The hotel is set in beautiful grounds. All areas looked very clean and gorgeous! The Elements restaurants ambience is incredible! Will be definitely returning!
