Whalley Abbey - Christian Retreat House offering B&B, hotel in Accrington

Located in Whalley, 7 miles from King George's Hall, Whalley Abbey - Christian Retreat House offering B&B has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Both days the breakfast was very good, first day it was buffet style second day less people so it was cooked to order continental available both days. I used the venue as a base to attend a nearby wedding reception and the location was perfect as is it's proximity to Whalley village. All staff that I engaged with were very helpful nice and pleasant. I had a single room with ensuite shower and toilet also tea and coffee making facilities in room and WiFi. In the reception there is an honesty bar and further tea and coffee making facilities beside it is a nice lounge overlooking the courtyard. In the courtyard is a separate cafe. Surrounding the venue are the gardens and ruins of the Abbey which all back on to the river Calder

Northcote, hotel in Accrington

Northcote offers luxury accommodations in Langho, on the edge of the Ribble Valley.

On arrival we were met with an immediate issue as we were due to attend a wedding and there were no rooms reserved for us despite us booking in January. The hotel was full. The hotel staff and team there managed to sort the situation and arranged alternative accommodation at another hotel. Exceptional performance under an incredibly difficult situation.

    **Review of Accrington, Manchester**

**Review of Accrington, Manchester** Accrington, a charming town in Lancashire, blends history, community spirit, and local charm, notably reflected in its industrial heritage tied to the cotton industry. A highlight is the vibrant market, showcasing local produce, crafts, and unique goods, fostering a friendly atmosphere for exploration. Accrington Stanley Football Club enhances the community spirit, providing excitement for sports fans. Nature lovers can enjoy nearby parks and green spaces, perfect for leisurely walks or picnics. The town's good connections to surrounding areas make it easy to explore more of Lancashire. Though quieter than larger cities, Accrington's charm lies in its community feel and warm hospitality, making it a great destination for an authentic Lancashire experience.

There was no central heating in the room so the hotel supplied us with a fan heater, our room was in the courtyard so every time we left the room we got wet because of the rain. We could not book a table in the restaurant because the hotel was busy,if it wasn't that we were so tired we would of left and driven back home as it was we got up early in the morning left as quick as we could

No Pedal Bin and glasses in the ensuite No fridge

No Pedal Bin and glasses in the ensuite No fridge Room over priced £60 pound for breakfast which was pre cooked Lift not working Reported this on checkout staff just laughed family spread to four corners of the hotel Tarriff Parking but had to register car especially travelling a long distance Family member reported noise level. Staff gave her room number when contacted the noisy room neighbour. She had two young children staying with her and these people could of been aggresive type. Overall disappointed to say the least. Would not recommend this hotel to any one only positives were the bed and swimming pool

    Absolutely fabulous pub.

Absolutely fabulous pub. I've stayed here for 5 nights and had a brilliant time with everyone. It's such a welcoming place and very well run. The room was great, plenty big enough with a private bathroom. Tea making facilities and a pot of porridge too. There's plenty going on in the pub during the week. I arrived on a Monday and it was Poker pizza night. There is also a pool table, darts and TV's to watch your favourite sports. Have a few beers or a few shots of "Mini Guinness" and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the bar. Even if your a solo traveller like me.... I felt very safe on my own drinking in the bar which made it more relaxing. Johnathan and staff are fantastic and all very helpful. Can't wait to get back!!!

Nice to get out of some of the larger UK cities and see the character of smaller towns, wander the streets and sample the local fare. Not currently a major tourist destination, Accrington is a great visit, and currently a hidden gem; except to the friendly locals.
