Location good, facilities good. Breakfast was great but I must say this hotel has some of the finest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. Staff make a hotel and that is certainly the case here. Would wholeheartedly recommend staying at The Townhouse.
Situated in the centre of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire, Station House - Room Only is a 5-minute walk from cafés, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as a cinema.

Comfortable, clean, well run accommodation with friendly efficient staff. We were in the Station House room only part of The Townhouse, and it was really pleasant and self contained

The ability to be able to eat some meals at our accommodation comfortably was good. As too was the accommodation itself which had pretty much everything you could want for a short stay. Lovely views and well managed.

Aberfeldy is a lovely wee town in beautiful Perthshire.
Aberfeldy is a lovely wee town in beautiful Perthshire. Big enough to have all the necessary facilities and some nice independent shops, bars and restaurants, but small enough to be friendly and easy to walk around. Some lovely countryside and mountains right on the doorstep and well connected from all directions.

Fabulous views and beautiful well kept lodges in a beautiful location with everything you need for a self catering holiday. However 4pm check in on Friday and 10am checkout on a Sunday made the weekend feel rushed and spoiled your Saturday night having to get up early the next morning to pack up the lodge and exit for 10am. A later Sunday checkout would have made all the difference

Aberfeldy is on the River Tay and set in beautiful countryside. There are outdoor things to do- farm trips, walks by the river or The Birds of Aberfeldy. In March the roads around are quiet and the views and countryside is so wonderful . For me The Watermill is one of the best individual bookshops anywhere and it has its own wonderful coffee shop. I want to go back .

Very pleasant area of Perthshire - plenty activities, walking, cycling and watersports etc. Not far from Kenmore, Killin, Dunkeld which are all worth a visit. Dochart Falls worth a stop on the way to Killin.
Not a huge amount in Aberfeldy itself, but a good centre. For an evening meal we would recommend the Inn on the Tay at Grandtully which is only 10-15 minutes away - the food and service was excellent, and there's outdoor seating for sunny days, pretty much on the banks of the Tay.

We visit Aberfeldy every year and find it an excellent location to base ourselves and can travel around the area. It has a lovely town centre with a variety of shops and good selection of eating places. It is easy to walk to places and the highlight for those keen on walking is the Birks of Aberfeldy with stunning views.
The Watermill in the centre of the town is a beautiful building and now a book store with cafe and well worth a visit.
There is a cinema too in town with a cafe.
It is easy to drive to Kenmore, Pitlochry and Blair Atholl when based in Aberfeldy.
Karelia House is a craft store selling fabric and wool with a small cafe and based between Kenmore and Aberfeldy and worth a trip if you like sewing/knitting.
Moness Hotel in Aberfeldy has a spa and small swimming pool and easy to walk to from the town centre.
Near Aberfeldy is Grandtully with great views of the river. There is the highland chocolatier shop here too which has a lovely gift shop, a cafe and of course a selection of delicious chocolates.
The Townhouse in Aberfeldy is a great place to stay and eat. Also visited the Waterfront restaurant in Kenmore which was excellent.

We had a great stay! We had been visiting multiple places in Scotland this summer and this one by far beat others. Not only it was very clean, but selection of breakfast menu will suit everyone’s flavours. Each morning there was a special two dishes to choose from on top of standard menu positions (what a treat!!!). We loved the location and fact it is just a short walk to great book shops and cafes (if you wish to see the Aberfeldy itself) not to mention local distillery. Simply GRAND !
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Schiehallion Hotel in Aberfeldy, and it was an experience to remember. The service was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to accommodate even the most unique requests. The food was delightful, and the rooms were both spacious and comfortable, providing a perfect haven after a day of exploring. I can't recommend this hotel enough for anyone visiting Aberfeldy.
Everything about the Balnearn House was lovely, the owners, the rooms, the hotel. Breakfast was very nice and tasty, with a good variety of options. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. Bathroom was immaculate, shower had a strong pressure to it which was a bonus! 100% recommend this Hotel for anyone visiting the local area.
This hotel could be called a restaurant with rooms the food was so good. A really welcoming atmosphere, from the large car park to the cosy bar and excellent restaurant. The position is lovely on a quiet road with a super riverside walk into Aberfeldy. We will be staying there again.
