FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Whether you want Aberdeen hotels with a pool, or rural accommodation surrounded by hills, don’t miss the deals on Booking.com!

    ULEZ fines killing the city.

ULEZ fines killing the city. I drove into crown street, parked for a week and received a £60(reduced from £120 if paid within 2weeks) then drove out.. I feel radicalised by this stupid pointless ULEZ System. It fines ordinary motorists and achieves nothing but feeding the coffers of robbing councils.

A short overnight stay as a birthday treat for my mother. Sadly, she is an Aberdeen FC fan so took her on the stadium tour which she enjoyed then out for dinner an a really nice Italian restaurant called Amerone where the food and service was exceptional. My son, who lives in Aberdeen, also joined us for dinner then drinks in one of the Union Street bars.

The city centre is a mess. Not customer friendly.

The city centre is a mess. Not customer friendly. Nothing to induce people to visit . Very poor lighting with too many slack and dangerous slabs. Lived in Aberdeen years ago and I find it's gone downhill . Council is not helping the situation. Only visit to go to football so don't spend much time in centre. No favourite places to visit.

The Atholl Hotel set a bar in Scottish Hospitality as regards value for money in relation to comfort, food and friendliness and efficiency of staff, that few hotels in Scotland can match (save perhaps 5 star hotels). Having staying in 1/2 dozen hotels throughout Scotland this year (2024) the cost per night has been £30-80 more and the standard of food and overall comfort either equal usually much less.
