Staff were superb. Cleanliness was superb. Superb hotel. Cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. The carpets were hoovered daily.

We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient. The town was virtually rebuilt after World War 2 damage and is therefore not all that aesthetically pleasing in itself. However, a good base for hopping on a train to Quimper, Vannes or other 'pretty' destinations.

We went for the first 4 days of the Inter Celtic festival and were amazed at what a vast area was set up with hospitality tents, marketeers, marching routes etc, plus also making use of the buildings and conference/convert venues already there. The whole place was filled with music at every turn, whether it was bands warming up, smaller groups or soloists playing in alcoves - the place was just buzzing all day every day.
There was no shortage of places to eat ranging from snacks, eating on the hoof, or sitting down in various restaurants, and plenty types of cuisines to choose from.
It is all very walkable with lovely squares and tree lined avenues, lots of shops and pretty harbour.
However odd it may seem (but there is a story behind it) the tropical/colonial styled interior, thorough and into perfection, gives this hotel a layed back atmosphere, perfect to relax in.
The annex bar/restaurant in similar style makes you won't have to leave the premises to have a good night out.
Good concept, next to TGV station.
My room has been in first floor towards the road.
Service is great, cleaning every day, WiFi available, late arrival can be arranged. Breakfast has been a pleasure. Parking slots are available behind the hotel without additional payment required.
Free parking along the road until 9AM.
A lot of restaurants in walking distance.
Very practical and clean apartment. Parking is easy and free. Nice small balcony and good quality sleeping bench (for privacy). Bathroom is spacious and has all you need. Seperate toilet (consider a plus). Complete kitchen. Helpful and conscious host. Surroundings of Lorient are beautiful. Longer stay recommendable.
Lorient is not the world's most interesting city. It does however boast "Le Base", Europe's largest submarine base built by the Nazi's and now used as a museum and as the location for many companies involved in ocean racing. This hotel is located very close to Le Base.
