We stayed here last year so we knew what the Hotel was like; great location, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and at breakfast you could eat outdoors. There are many shops and restaurants nearby and various nautical themed shops and places of interest. The Manageress/ Owner was very helpful and friendly.
This hotel is located on the Côte d'Opale, facing the Canche and 5 minutes from Le Touquet. The Hotel Côte d'Opale welcomes you in a family atmosphere.

Everything a delight, Flo is an instantly likeable attentive and 'people' person, who made our stay special, as is clearly the case with all her visitors as evidenced by all reviews. Lovely Cosy room. comfy bed, everything is there, but her smiling face. and a fresh delicious French breakfast in her lovely kitchen rounded off our short stay to perfection. E'taples is a beautiful place.with every thing you could possibly need. There's a fantastic market which takes up the whole of there square. On a Tuesday also a Friday. There's great places to eat and the people are very friendly.

Bes was comfortable (only positive) Floor was dirty - fire door wedged open- cigarette buts by our door - children running and screaming around corridor at 1:00am - no A/C - toilet flush fell off- sink basin rusty - rotting material in bins by door - noisy trains passing every 20 mins - no dining place available - over priced at €117 - says dog friendly but nowhere to walk them. Worst place I have ever stopped in 50 years

Etaples has a lovely market square with good bars and restaurants which were used by the locals. A nice place to walk around.
There are some excellent little shops with great produce. Parking in the square is abundant and free.

I loved this Hotel. The Owner was friendly, helpful and had a beautiful French accent! The room was comfortable with clean sheets and towels, a kettle for your hot drinks and was very quiet; never heard a thing all night and it is located just off the main street and down a smaller street behind some flats and houses. Plenty of fast food type places and there is lots to see and do. Buffet breakfast which sets you up for the day and about an one hour from the Channel tunnel. A recommended stop for either one or several nights.
Very convenient location, only a few minutes walk from the town square where there are various restaurants, a supermarket and other small shops.
The road that this property is on is fairly narrow but there is on street parking and we had no problem finding a space.
Key safe entry worked perfectly.
We visited the war cemetery on the outskirts of Etaples which is astonishingly well kept and was a very moving experience.
We were very pleased with our accommodation at La Surprise, it really was a surprise. The view across Etaples on to port and the sea from the sunny terrace were very interesting and ever changing. Flo was chatty and attentive and entertained us at breakfast with her sailing experiences on her yacht, the ‘Lizard’.
Flo can speak a little English but I am sure she appreciates her guests speaking some French to her.
Lovely hotel opposite a quiet square with easy overnight parking. Large room, which the host had thoughtfully airconditioned. Comfy bed and great shower
