The hotel was very easy to find as it was directly on the main road though the room was very quiet being at the back of the hotel, (lovely view.) The restaurant was more than good and the staff very attentive. An enjoyable stay.
Located in Coulanges-sur-Yonne, 21 miles from Auxerre Clock Tower, Hôtel du lion d'or has accommodations with a garden, private parking, a terrace and a bar.

expectations.. sin was on crutches after a motorcycle accident an Guillaume went over and above to make our impromptu stay exceptional. He prepared a smoked salmon salad of such quality that I would recommend staying purely to enjoy that Lively people, lovely location and would happily revisit any day. Thanks Guillaume for your kindness.

Clamecy is a friendly and attractive town with a well-preserved medieval core. It is an ideal location for cycling along the Canal de Nivernais and into the surrounding countryside. It has a surprisingly wide range of eating places for such a small town. There is an interesting local museum with an impressive art and archaeological collection as well as a fascinating display about 'Les Flotteurs'. They were skilled woodsmen who floated rafts of firewood up to Auxerre and on to Paris - and who formed an interesting and quite radical rural subculture. I had a fairly dramatic stay in that I had mild sunstroke on my first day's cycling and was taken to the local hospital for a check-up by the paramedics. I was soon discharged but was impressed by their care and concern and that of French cyclists who stopped to help.

We absolutely loved this hotel, the rooms were large and comfortable and the staff great. The restaurant served quality food to the point where we invited friends there for a meal the next night. Overall this is definitely a hotel where we would stay again.
The hotel looked good, was very well situated, had a very good restaurant and the staff were always very helpful. The owner even gave us a lift to meet a friend in a neighbouring village when he couldn’t find a taxi!
The host, waitress from Sint Maarten. She was exceptional. Any hotel should have a host like her. Surprisingly good was diner, and for a fair price. Nice to be able to park the bikes in the garage aswell.
