A beautiful town with some great restaurants and bars. All of the locals we bumped into were really friendly. Prices were as reasonable as you would expect at a ski resort. Le Cozy & Vannoir are restaurants I would certainly recommend.

Briançon is a full of life town with lots of convenient facilities. It is perfect for sport fans, you can do skiing, mountaineering, trekking, climbing, kayaking. It has swimming pools as well. Also very nice for people who just want to rest and have a walk through the old town. Everything here is available in walking distance - shops, markets, pharmacy, banks, the old town etc

Nice little town on the French Alps.
There is a small walled fortress above Briancon which is worth visiting. It is called Vauban.
There is a park in the central area of town which is really beautiful and has many activities for kids.
There is a iceskating arena where you can see one of the best french hockey teams playing.
Eating out is rather expensive.
The whole mountain settings around the town is truly outstanding.

The old town was beautiful but it is very hilly so not for anyone who has mobility difficulties. The new town, at the bottom of the hill is a total contrast. It has a great weekly market. From the old town it is possible to get into the surrounding countryside by bus. The number 7 bus to Nevache is a beautiful ride. Walking in the mountains is fairly demanding Just keep an eye on the bus times! Lots of places to eat nearby and interesting little shops on the doorstep.

The old town was beautiful, but outside of that was difficult to get around as not much public transport. Used my bike and walking a lot for the majority of my stay. Some great restaurants to explore.

It has been a long time since we have found a hotel where the staff have taken so much care, clean, well maintained, well appointed and the breakfast buffet was superb!
