The bed was soooooo comfortable. Loved exploring all the different areas outside of the room: the balcony, the couches, the view from the pool area. We had a really nice meal at the bistro too. It was a really cool and unique experience, and we had a great time.

The town is just the right size for wandering on foot, We also took the little train to the 9 locks (Fonserannes lock) and that was fascinating. Beside our apartment there was a very unique cheese shop, where we went a little bit mad - the owner has a cave beneath the shop for ripening cheese and had the most incredible selection of local and national cheeses.
We also wandered through the Plateau des Poetes, this is beautiful and we reached it by walking down the All. Paul Riquet - also lovely. It's also worth mentioning that the town is very clean!
I think we ate at Le Johane one evening (didn't take note of the name, but the photos look right) - lovely meal, and very helpful friendly staff.

Two days more than adequate in Beziers.
Two days more than adequate in Beziers. Not tourist friendly unless one could speak French. Very good train service which took us to Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassonne etc, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed & would return to .

Lovely shops and street cafes.
Lovely shops and street cafes. It is relatively easy to walk around but it also has an excellent bus service. We jumped the bus which was only 2euros to Valres, approximately 20 mins where the beach is gorgeous. The castle and the surrounding views are very nice and easy to leisurely stroll around. The prison Restaurant was excellent and very good value for money. The Happy Train is very boring but cheap. We did a canal cruise which took us through the 9 locks of the Canal De Midi, which was excellent. The Polygone shopping centre is very impressive with a lovely roof top terrace. We had excellent Steak and Frittes at the American Diner. The Plateau des poetes is worth a visit.

Lovely city - very clean and quiet which was what I wanted.
Lovely city - very clean and quiet which was what I wanted. It's also a very walkable city - not too large and easy to get around. It's also a great base to explore other cities such as Carcassonne, Narbonne and Montpellier as they are all easily accessible by train (and the trains run pretty regularly). Just make sure to bring insect repellent because the mosquito population is quite active, even late in the season!

This was our first trip to Beziers for over 20 years, and it has gotten better. A beautiful Old Town with a cluster of lovely restuarants, bistrols and cafes near to the Cathedral and prison. An excellent (free) sonne et lummier presentation tracking the development of the city for over 1000 years. And the central zone at the bottom of Old Town has been extensively removated and extended, with some fantastic lighting art in the parks.
We stayed in Beziers primarily to visit friends in the area, but next time we'll go to visit only Beziers ;-)

Forbes said it best: "Béziers has the architecture of Paris, the beaches of Cannes, the food and hospitality of Tuscany and the prices of Cedar Rapids." We did not get a chance to see the beaches and the market was closed for renovation, but when it opens it will be a gem.

The host was charming and attentive to our requirements. The apartment was stunning, and catered to every possible need (even little disposable slippers on the bed). The bed was the first we have slept in properly made with a top sheet, perfect attention to detail. Truly the luxury treat we needed on a long trip around France.
Was made to feel very welcome by the friendly owners. Hotel had a lovely 'quirky-ness' about it and was ideally placed. After a good sleep, despite the heat (glad my room had a fan!) I was made a fabulous continental breakfast. I would stay here again if I am ever return to Beziers.
