Perfect location in a beautiful district and as a starting point for exploring Santa Cruz. Nearby is the most beautiful park in the city.
Very good, varied breakfasts (including e.g. almogrote, goat cheese, arugula, good coffee from the coffee machine).
Perfectly clean. Comfortable beds. Very large bathroom with shower and room with balcony. Despite the proximity of a busy street - after closing the windows in the room it was quiet. Well-functioning air conditioning.

Our lodging for this part of the journey was Hotel Atlántico Centro, a charming little spot right on one of the main thoroughfares called Calle Castillo. Originally we were in Hotel Oceano, a joint owned hotel 30 metres down the road which was OK but stuffy. They are working on the addition of air conditioning. After talking with Deres, a polite, friendly and helpful desk clerk he moved us into Atlantico, room 402 which was great, overlooking the promenade. Little noisy late at night because of revellers returning from social activities but doesn’t last very long.
Santa Cruz is a nice little spot, occasionally busy from the cruise crowds but not overly so.
On our last full day we visited Mount Teide, an active volcano. Surprisingly it is the 3rd highest peak in Europe and one of its most popular destinations. It certainly lives up to expectations. Calling it amazing is not doing it justice, dramatic in a way only Mother Earth can accomplish. We humans can build but she creates. The trip up (and down) is challenging, sometimes downright scary since the roads are narrow and the cliffs vertical.
The landscapes are varied; from the barren & bleak, where the Forbidden Zone in Planet of the Apes was filmed, to the greenery of the pines as you ascend above the cloud layer. We had also booked the cable car to the summit of the volcano peak but windy conditions of 80km plus cancelled those plans. Too bad as it would have been spectacular.

Santa Cruz is amazing , closet to the port , bustling city, nice restaurants and very close to Bus Terminal and nice beaches few kms away however where we stayed in Tenerife Calle de Santa Rosalia ,it was on the quieter side we had to travel quiet a lot 1 hour or more via bus to get to the place where you can party or have all the activities booked at the South . The commute is difficult unless you have a car, its easier to stay in the south and plan all activities as staying at the north it was very difficult for us to plan our activities , we ended up spending so many hours just commuting . May be we should have planned better but always a next time .

Santa Cruz is awesome and so is its people, The Canaries. They are always open for conversing, they're always trying to help with directions, advice...They are such a nice people!!!! Only one piece of advice if you're driving in the island. Parking is a problem, the spaces are tight.

It is port city. Not touristic.
It is port city. Not touristic. Bad moment - was no beach near and everywhere in cafes and restaurants no wifi internet. no printed paper menu, it is needed to be scan by QR code with special application in mobile phone which need internet connection. Why no wifi? When in all other cities in Spain this option is available.

Very nice hotel in the corner of a main square of Santa Cruz. I highly recommend booking the room with the balcony - views are really nice! The breakfasts were really tasty and were served in a restaurant in the other building on the same square, so it wasn't a problem for me (especially there were also a nice views from restaurant :)). The staff was helpfull and proffessional. I really recommend that place!
And a welcome return to Principe Paz, simply a great centrally located hotel in the centre of Santa Cruz. Staff are helpful and friendly. Hotel is modern and my room was a good size with nice facilities. I will come back here for sure, it does everything you need for a city stay. They also provided a picnic bag as I had to miss breakfast. The picnic was more than enough.
The hotel is really in the center of Santa Cruz. All is close by, for example the port of the cruise ships and also the shopping street and restaurants and a huge park for kids to play at the port.
