Approaching the Castillo from across the plains of the Duero Valley was already exciting, seeing it there on its natural tower of sandstone and our upgraded room took our breath away. Breakfast was par for the course for that level of accommodation in the area and dinner (extra) was welcome and our food was very good.

The city is very small but has an impressive castle nested in the nearby hill A good starting point could be walking this hill up as parking facilities closer to the castle entrance could get jammed. The historic city centre has one or two nice "cervezarias" where you could mingle with local people and have a beer with bocadillos. Alongside N-122 which is the local road that passes trough the city you will find several wineyards

Pretty house, everything looks new, reasonably clean, quiet, really close to Penyafiel, in the middle of a vineyard with a nice little swimming pool. Even when it's hot during the day, it cools down at night. Having a kitchen and a fridge was really useful. I wish all the hotels had those.
We loved this hotel. We stayed only one night as part of our journey south but it provided everything we needed - a great pool and lovely rooms. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was good.
Location is good for Penafiel and winery visit. design is nice and 2 level rooms are interesting with jacuzzi.
Good price for this kind of offer. Front desk people very helpful.
