the surroundings are very beautiful. the road to reach the hotel passes through woods and small groups of old houses. there are nature trails if you like walking. the hotel is a very large and renovated house, the exterior has the typical Basque architecture while the interior is very modern. there is a well-kept garden and a free parking. the rooms are new and large with big bathrooms but a little impersonal for me. breakfast is paid separately but is freshly made. there are information materials and relax area. we asked for an additional room after booking and it was given to us with a discount for individual use. we received good advice on a restaurant where we ate well within 10 minutes by car in the nice town of Orozko. the hotel is run by two sisters.

We have been staying in this hotel every year for last 10 years before we take ferry. We love Bilbao..
A lovely city and this hotel is very centrally located.
However each time after travelling 8 hours from south.. the reception at the desk is unfriendly... they are oblivious to the fact that we have stayed there 2 to 3 nights on each occasion for so many years.... never upgraded
This year we stayed on arrival and found the standard had slipped somewhat... so on our return we have decided to stay elsewhere 🙂
I've never had breakfast and only once dinner... when it was raining.. dining room like a refectory and Bilbao has way more to offer!
