Hotel Mari Carmen, hotel in Guadix

Situated in Guadix, Hotel Mari Carmen has a bar. With a shared lounge, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom.

Overall great experience. Very clean. Lots of space in the room and bathroom. Incredible shower!! Very powerful. Carparking is possible on the immediate street and it's free! Good location and easy walk to the old part of town. The room was facing the main road into the town but wasn't a problem for me as earplugs are a norm. Supermarket immediately opposite too was a plus!

Hotel Mulhacen, hotel in Guadix

This hotel is set just outside central Guadix and offers free wired internet and private parking at a good price. There is easy access to the A-92 Motorway to Granada.

The location was very good. There is a restaurant/cafeteria on site, and a Coviran is not far away to purchase items for your journey or day out! good shops in the City along with other coffee houses and cafe style restaurants or more expensive options for a bigger budget. I took a bus from Guadix Bus Station to Murcia you can travel to many other places for a day trip also as well as sight seeing around the City.

Hotel Abades Guadix, hotel in Guadix

Nestled in the Andalusian countryside, this elegant hotel has impressive interiors and an à la carte restaurant. Enjoy views over the fascinating landscapes.

Beautiful hotel! What grandeur. This applies to both the halls downstairs and upstairs, as well as the rooms. The room was big and had beautifully crafted wooden doors, cupboards and desk and the vaulted ceiling had wooden beams. The lighting plan was better than most hotels. The hotel is situated next to the highway (not suited for everyone but perfect for me), but also a few 100 meters from the beautiful town of Gautix and 40 min. drive to Granada. The view on the hills is stunning

Guadix has a small but characterful historic quarter but which is too much in a state of decay. Then there are the distinctive and massively characterful cave dwellings. I think that the areas outside of the town itself might be the most interesting aspect of Guadix but we didn't have the time to explore. The views around from the town are astonishing.

Guadix is a town with the charm of old times, a little sleepy.. there is very interesting part of city with cave dwellings (cuevas) We missed to visit Cathedral museum. But we had a very nice trip to foothills of Sierra Nevada. There is nice restaurant Liceo Accitano on the Plaza de la Constitución, popular for local people (which we like)

Look forward to returning to spend more time.

Look forward to returning to spend more time. Good to explore the barrio of the caves, the local church is free entry with a small museum and lots of cave rooms to explore. The alcazar was being renovated in autumn 2023 so will visit again - The historical centre and modern part of town are both great to visit with lots of good value resteraunts, cafes, traditional architecture and a nice plaza major. The city is situated in a unique area of Spain with nearby deserts and surrounding rock formations. Excellent area for buying traditional ceramics.

Guadix is a friendly, small city/town, with a magnificent cathedral. There's not too much else to see, but wandering around the quiet streets of the old town is a pleasure in itself. There are a few good bars and restaurants. The cave area is interesting for a quick visit. All in all, Guadix seems like a nice place to break a journey and spend the night, but probably not worth going out of your way for a special trip.

The caves are a must when at Guadix and to stay in them isa great experience. The town was lively with an interesting historic quarter, a cabildo and a cathedral dominating the town. Plenty of place for tapas or dinner and all well served.

Guadix is not only the Cave neighbourhood, the old town has a fascinating history and historical monuments to visit. In the surroundings there are also amazing walks and views into the badlands. The food offer unfortunately is quite poor and not very appealing. There is also an amazing tradition on ceramics and you can shop very beautiful and special pieces.
