The property in google maps took us to an abandoned warehouse in Granon. The ad was misleading. It said it was only 50 m from centre of town. It turned out to be another 1.5 km outside of town. We called the property 3x. The line was out of order.
After an hour we tried calling again as we had no where else to go. We had just finished walking 29 k that day. The owners phone worked and he picked us up. The room smelt like old smoke. We had no light bulbs in the lamps in the room. That was corrected when we asked. We asked for a ride back to town in the am as we were doing another 29 k. We wern’t expecting to be so far out of town. We agreed on 8:00am. We were ready at 7:50 am. The owner didn’t get up till 9:00 am. He said we had to wait till 9:30 ish. We decided to walk as he was not reliable. Terrible experience. We weren’t comfortable at this facility.
I would not recommend this place for Camino Pilgrams.

Hosts were great. We had trouble with a room key. The host was patient and laughed with us as he helped us.

This impressive hotel is housed in a former hospital building dating from the 12th century. Parador de Santo Domingo de la Calzada has various magnificent lounges.

Unfortunately the supermarket was closed - however we found vending machines on Main Street for water.
The best was live music on arrival to Grañón.
And a great meal in Peruvian cafe .

After walking over 30km in the day, any accommodation will do.
As far as Granon being a small town, this accommodation was reasonably central. The check in process was simple and the bed and bathroom were VERY basic and budget friendly.
Such a beautiful hotel. We were hugely fortunate to be upgraded to a Junior Suite which was fab.
We dined in the restaurant on our first night and it was incredible.
Lovely stylish hotel. Monica was very kind and friendly. Upgraded us to a lovely room.
