A lovely city and this hotel is very centrally located.
However each time after travelling 8 hours from south.. the reception at the desk is unfriendly... they are oblivious to the fact that we have stayed there 2 to 3 nights on each occasion for so many years.... never upgraded
This year we stayed on arrival and found the standard had slipped somewhat... so on our return we have decided to stay elsewhere 🙂

Agape restaurant was lovely for a set menu of the day and Casa Rusu was great for steak in a quirky setting at the back of a Deli

Good place for a break.
Good place for a break. Food and drink are good and inexpensive. Getting around is easy. I would recommend getting a travel card on your visit, which can be used on all forms of transport. I also took a day trip to San Sebastian. It takes about 1 hour and twenty minutes by bus, costing around 10 euros each way. I would also recommend the bars in Calle Ledesma which have a lovely vibrant atmosphere.

We all loved the old city with its historical architecture shops, bakeries, bars and vibrant life. The Guggenheim was fascinating to visit great art and displays. We always felt welcome and safe and enjoyed our stay.

Bilbao is one of the best cities I've ever been.
Bilbao is one of the best cities I've ever been. It is extremely clean, there are not many people on the streets harassing tourist, is feels and seems really safe. You can get anywhere walking or with public transport. The locals are extremely nice and helpful. There is a lot of shopping opportunities and the best prices available, I would recommend as a girl to not even bring that many clothes as most likely you'll want to buy everything there. The food is simply extraordinary. I went for just 3 days thinking it would be enough and that was a big mistake... I'm regretting not staying longer. I will definitely have to come back to finish everything I wanted to do.

Bilbao football club - expensive to see a match - 60Euro but great atmosphere. Book tickets up by going to club website and asking to be emailed when tickets available.
We walked everywhere and the town is compact. Friendly people.

Great hotel in Bilbao. Fernando was so helpful - wonderful information with great tips for eating and sight seeing. His knowledge of the city was first class. The room was clean, comfortable and serviced daily. Shower had good pressure. Beds were on the firm side but not a problem for us. Location was close to the market and old town.
The hotel is close to the river, old town and museums (including Guggenheim Museum), so it was easy to take trips and explore Bilbao landmarks. The hotel itself was nice and clean. Rooms were quiet. Overall we are very happy with our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend it!

This is a fantastic hotel. Views of the Guggenheim and hinterland of Bilbao. Great location easy walking distance everywhere including old town plus right on tram line. Very comfortable beds and great for sharing space with two people plenty of room.
No breakfast as it is a budget hotel. Location is perfect, centre of the Old Town. Very basic but reflected in the price, which is very reasonable. Very nice staff. Great location for exploring Bilbao.
