Our hotel (Hotel Tropicana) was within a 10 minute walk to the beach, which was nice. Restaurants and stores were also within walking distance. Poppi's (3-wheeled covered scooters) were near to take you where you wanted to go, however some of the Haitian drivers were aggressive in trying to get a fare. Always good to know a little of the language of the country you are going to, even better to have someone with you who speaks fluent Spanish.

This is a huge facility, but the Adults-only Beach facility is separated while access is facilitated to other parts of the property. I had to use the services of the beach patrol at one point to help my guest -- they were absolutely perfectly professional in dealing with an inebriated guest and helped me find him, brought a cart to transport him, and helped me get him to bed. I found all the staff (except one as explained elsewhere) to be excellent.

Punta Cana is very nice place for vacation with family, friends or couples. They are improving a lot in many areas so the tourist can have many options. The only think that they need is a better public transportation.

I understand why so many northern countries migrates there...
I understand why so many northern countries migrates there for vacation. The beaches are splendid, the food is delicious and the Dominicans are very welcoming.
However, as friendly as they are, the vendors and tour operators are quite insistent to a point which I would consider it harassment. Speaking Spanish does go a long way to get some peace or have friendly interaction where they aren't just trying to get you to buy something. I think it has to do with the area because it's surrounded by all inclusive resort where tourists naturally have wealth to book these kind of vacation. Which is sad in my opinion because there is so much to experience from the Dominican culture, but it gets buried by this
constant pressure to purchase goods and services.
The beauty of the landscape and the warmth of the people should be enough to attract visitors, yet the commercialization of tourism often detracts from the authenticity of the experience. Despite these challenges, there are still opportunities to engage with local communities, explore hidden gems, and immerse oneself in the genuine essence of the Dominican Republic. It's just a bit harder around Punta Cana. It's a reminder that while tourism can bring economic prosperity, it should never come at the expense of cultural integrity

Stay was pleasant. Room clean and comfortable. Just want to remind all that there is a thief lurking amongst the hotel staff. I carried most of cash with me. Our cash money about four hundred dollars were missing from our wallet kept inside our bag. Only cash was stolen, laptop was not taken. This happened on our last day. He did it very cleverly, we went to the beach around one pm and returned at five pm. Late at night when we were packing we noticed the cash missing. Next day early morning we checked out. The locks to the room is very filmsy.

This was my first holiday in Punta Cana, I was given a beautiful ground floor room, because of a bad leg, near the beach and the pool, thanks to reception team.
They were extremely helpful and kind. As were all the staff in the hotel.
The beach and pool were great, good food with friendly waiters, what more could you want?
I needed a break from a big city, to relax and feel I was being taken care of and I definitely got what I wanted and more !!
This is a great value for money hotel, nice clean rooms, professional and friendly staff always happy to help, and excellent location and very safe to walk around the area and the historical centre. I actually stayed three times during my holiday in Punta Cana as I really enjoyed my stay there in the first place and I am so grateful the reception and reservation departments assisted with my bookings. We had a layover of 2 nights in the Dominican republic with flight in and out from Punta Cana. Sol Caribe Hotel was for us a perfect accommodation for our short stay with an excellent value for money.
Very comfortable and clean room. Very friendly people and positive vibes. Abundant food for breakfast - I loved the pancakes.
The reception was great! He helped us on so many topics and requests. We had very pleasant time on the big terrace, watching the sunset. The room is large and like on the photo. We can recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to visit Punta Cana on budget.
