Constant prop with water, as a result- no shower and disgusting toilets (because no water to flash the toilet).
Not sure the bedding was fresh and washed, towels were stained. And everywhere was mud.
Strong smell of poop, especially when we were in our bed.

Exotic beach, I start there, that's why I went. See the photos. The room was fine, clean, large with a kitchen, 2 double beds, fridge, etc. Needs maintenance (door sticks, smells a bit damp, sometimes has no hot water). Opposite is a mini market and the restaurant at 30m (very good food and service, a little bit expensive for me). There are pools and waterslides bar with dj and live music sometimes! Price and location wins any doubt or dilemma!!!
10$ for check in at reception. I pay the room by MasterCard. Victoria comes with POS to apartment. Easy 😀. Is about 30 min out of La Romana, i take Uber but i see a bus. Go to soana island! Daily cruise. Pick up from hotel. About 60$.

Juan Carlos is a Swiss/Spanish nice and easy going guy. He is a perfect host. I felt really comfortable in his house. He made sure I had a great and genuine experience in my short time in the island, and treated me as a friend. He was kind enough to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner at a very fair price. Same for boat transportation to the island. It was great to walk around and share some talks with him. The place is simple, as I would expect for an small island, but tidy and clean. The washroom is private, and it is outside the room. Don’t expect a hotel room. He also let me use, as a courtesy, his standup board, snorkel and bicycle. You could also rent for a very fair price his little moto. Don’t forget your repellent as I did. Juan has a nice little dog Mandy which fast will be your friend. I highly recommend the place, and I really hope I can come back! Finally, you pay the accommodation and other things you consume with cash only, so bring enough cash, as you won’t have ATMs around. Don’t leave your garbage behind!
