We cycled in the morning, arriving at 12:00. The manager let us check in early!! Food was excellent ; the breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant was open all the time.

The owner was kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. We arrived during the period when the Donau was flooding and thought we would have to severely modify our trip. The owner called ahead to our next hotel in Passau to make sure it was not flooded. He also helped us choose a safe route and recommended a stop in between. He truly saved our trip. The hotel also offers secure bike storage.
The hotel is located a short 15 minute walk from centrum and numerous restaurants.

Straubing is a handsome little place, quite lovely in fact. The main thoroughfare is wide and attractive with lots of shops, all very well kept. There was a market just packing up when I arrived in early afternoon. There is a beautiful Albrecht Dürer window in the church, which is well worth visiting. The Main Street, Theresienplatz, has several street Cafés or restaurants. Hotel Gaubodenhof had a large out-door eating area on Theresienplatz.

I booked apartment with terace,got tiny rat hole upstairs with tiny windows,was +32 c....drunk noisy people around ...knocked at my door at night...plates and cups were dirty...bed was full of ketchup...and no receptionist....no one is to talk...
Horible, nasty ,dirty place....
Large level ground floor apartment with lounge/diner and small outdoor balcony. We were a couple, but the main bedroom contained 2 king size beds. There is a second bedroom and sofa beds in the lounge.Everything was clean and tidy.
Location is about 10 minute walk from an attractive traffic free town centre. With a car, the centre parking is expensive.
Straubing is a convenient centre for access to the glass making industry, Regensburg and Passau etc.
The hotel was located very centrally in Straubing, no complaints there. The food in the restaurant, where we ate in the evening, wasn't bad and wasn't too expensive. We got three ouzos each on the house, which was nice. We were allowed to store our bikes in hte garage overnight.
Clean Hotel with a good situation and a friendly staff. The breakfast is good with a wide variety of choice. The bedroom was perfect but take your ear plugs as there is a church with a ring bell not so far :)
