In the middle of the State of Hessen, near the cities of Giessen, Marburg, and Wetzlar, the Castle of Staufenberg has towered on its hill over the little town of Staufenberg since the 13th century.
Fachwerkhaus im Landhausstil is located in Staufenberg, just 22 miles from Stadthallen Wetzlar and 22 miles from Buderus Arena Wetzlar. This vacation home features accommodations with a patio.
The Hotel Burg was a surprisingly spectacular place to stay. With a true "Burg" feeling, the place isn´t like any other good hotel. The room was large and comfy and with a sort of canopy bed. The restaurant really in style with armors and halberds and a cheerful waitress. Very good food - inexpensive compared with the quality. Breakfast rich and tasty. The surrounding small town is picturesque and non-touristic - at least during our stay. Free and easy parking.
The hotel is wonderful and the scenery is brilliant however what made my stay even more enjoyable was the service that I received at the hands of a waiter in the restaurant by the name of Johannes Vitt. A more qualified and more generous waiter I have never met; his English is perfect and has a sense of humour is appropriate and welcoming.
This hotel is located in a medieval castle, so it’s hard to compare it to regular hotels. If you’re looking for an authentic experience of living in a Grimm's German fortress, this is the place for you. The breakfast is fantastic and well-organised.
We really enjoyed our stay. Although our suite was very comfortable it was annexed from the main hotel which was OK but not as expected. We had dinner at the hotel which was excellent and the staff were also excellent
Very good hotel and the room was really beautiful. Excellent breakfast and dinner. The restaurant was decorated like a castle hall and was very comfortable. Private parking in the hotel courtyard for our motorbike.
