The facilities (swimming pool, sauna and spa area) are great, just a little bit busy in the evening before dinner time. From the pool, you have a nice view of Hohenschwangau with relaxing music. The staff are very friendly and kind. The location is very convenient for a walk to Hohenschwangau, the ticket center and the bus stop to Neuschwanstein is just in front of the hotel (you can only go up to Neuschwanstein by the provided bus, a private horse carriage or by walk). We could park at the hotel’s parking even after the check out. We had a room in the historic Jägerhaus building - it was a classic ambience but the lighting was a little too dark. I would definitely go back but rather stay in the new building.
At least a night stay in the area is recommended due to the whole day of time spent on both castles, Marien Brücke, the nearby lake (not yet counting the museum of the Bavarian King, renting a boat, shopping at local shops and duty free).

Wow! The most amazing, exceptional, stay ever! We were so well taken care of from the reception team, Anika and others took the best care of us. We had a canceled flight due to a hurricane, and they went above and beyond to take care of our needs and get us in another night. Juan was amazing greeted us with such delight from the moment we arrived to the moment that we left. He was phenomenal. What a gentleman we miss him already. Miguel at the lounge was awesome as well, I got a massage from David and what an experience as well. The food was phenomenal. The service was phenomenal. Everyone goes above and beyond if it wasn’t one of the best stays of our lives, I don’t know what to say. I would go back just for food and service. I encourage everyone at some point of their life to go to this place, you’ll thank me later and never regret it. We are already planning a trip back!!

Location is beautiful. Updated room was lovely and big for a family of 4. Not in the center of town, but great location close to Schloss Neuschwanstein. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Included breakfast was a nice treat. Restaurant downstairs for dinner was convenient and delicious

Schwangau is actually right at the foot of the mountain. It is the closest, walking distance, to the base of the castles. Not touristy like Fussen. Some of the nearby B&B’s also served dinner, if you didn’t feel like driving to town. Town was about 2-3 miles away. This location might not work if you don’t have a car, although there are regular buses.

For me it was the best trip I have ever got. I was also lucky to go in this season Automen, the area is like a paradies. People are kind , services all around. the only thing is the company for renting cars was not available. there.

We spent the next day visiting the castle. There were a lot of tourists, and the tickets for the castle were booked out.
We came to show the kids, but probably wouldn’t have gone to the top if it was just my husband and I.
Lots of overpriced gift shops, and very much geared for tourism…

Beautiful hiking trails. You can walk to town and Neuschwanstein if you are in good shape. Much better than trying to find parking. Beautiful views. I would recommend going late in the evening as there is not that many tourists.

Neuschwanstein is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in the world. We stayed for a day to visit both castles, but wished we had stayed longer to see more of the nature around it as well.

It's in a fantastic location and is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a lot to see, not least the castles built by King Ludwig. There are also many lovely walks to take and it's ideal for cycling, as there are lots of cycle tracks. There are lots of superb hotels to chose from, all in good locations and plenty of good restaurants and cafes. The mountains around are beautiful, and one of them has a Tegelbahn (cable car) at the top of which is a very good restaurant and a place for people to hang glide down to the valley below. There are also lots of walks up there with amazing views. Schwangau is close to the town of Fussen, which is well worth a visit and is at the border with Austria. There is also a lake, Forggensee, where there are regular boat trips.

The location was perfect for the castles either a 40 mins walk or catch the local bus into Hohenschwangau which is free with the hotel travel concession. The staff were all marvellous and the breakfast was great although a little expensive,
The huge balcony, the view, perfect location. If the weather was a bit better we actually could walk to the Neuschwanstein Castle.
The staff was very friendly, and even let us to check in a bit earlier .
The hotel is perfectly situated next to the see and the castles. We had a lovely view to the Hohenschwangau castle right from our room. The staff was very nice, also the breakfest was great.
