The usual friendly family style welcome at the Hirsch. I've used them before and nothing has declined or become awfully expensive. Being only semi-ambulatory during this visit, I used the restaurant: I'd quite forgotten how good their food is. Not cheap; but good.

The nearby town of Esslingen was much more interesting.
The nearby town of Esslingen was much more interesting. I understand Ostfildern was heavily damaged during the war, so doesn't have the charming medieval buildings and streets of Esslingen. We did visit the Ostfildern cemetery which was interesting, but all in all, not much in the town itself. I did have a terrific trout dinner at the hotel though!

The hotel staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The Suite was old fashioned but clean, spacious and well-kept. The beds were comfortable and the big windows let in a lot of light. Dinner at the restaurant in the evening was great. The Zwiebelrostbraten was one of the best I've had and breakfast the next morning was superb with lots of attention to detail and variety.
A great find! Our one night stay was a welcomed respite from the drive from the UK to Italy.
The hotel location was minutes off our route, situated in a small residential area.

I stayed at this hotel for one night and it was okay, but not great. The location is easy to find and hotel has a parking, which is a plus. Room was a good size and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was average, nothing to write about.
The bed was super comfy, shower clean and useful, and really despite the hotel not being new it was all very practical and comfy. Breakfast was the usual one you get in Germany, nothing to report there, but did not disappoint either.
