The town is beautiful and worth traveling to, but a very important note: if it's a weekend trip travel Fri- Sun. Everything even some restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday. Being spoiled Berlin dwellers we came into town for a Sun-Mo trip, and got to enjoy only about 30% of what the area has to offer.

Very nice accommodation close to the center of Meißen (5-10 minutes walk down the hill) in the quiet neighborhood with a nice view form the terrace (which is a part of the apartment). Rooms are clean and large enough for a family with two kids. The owners were very helpful (sadly my german is only basic) and the stay was without any problem. Parking is possible directly in front of the house.
Unbeatable location, just in the city center with everything being super close. Parking is next to the hotel. Rich breakfasts, even with Sekt :) Helpful staff. Baby bed and electric kettle can be provided upon request. Our room had no air conditioner, but we were able to change it (for a reasonable fee). Definitely recommended!
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, it located reasonably near the centre of Meissen so it was a brief walk to cathedral and the old town and restaurants.
