-As it is a old historic buillding there is no elevator for upstairs access but it was no problem for me to use large wooden stairs
-Reception only open limited time in the morning and afternoon. It was also not a problem for me to get in to hotel with additional key near the room key
A comfortable modern hotel which is only a short walk from the historic town centre. We asked for a wheelchair friendly room and were given one. The hotel was sufficiently good that we decided to extend our stay for a further night.
There is direct access from the hotel to the Main cycleway via a shared footway/cycleway on the newer of the two bridges over the river. This is not immediately obvious but we found it.
We called the hotel to let them know our arrival time. Due to traffic conditions we were late , arrived around 10 pm, the kitchen was already closed but the Lady at the reception was waiting for us, and she made sure we have a lovely dinner. She was absolutely wonderful. If I could I would give a 10++++ for the service, for the room etc. And the location it’s stunning! I will definitely come back.
The rooms we stayed in had wonderful modern bathrooms with great showers. We were on a cycling trip and super bathrooms were just what we needed after a days cycling in hot weather. The staff were helpful and friendly and served a lovely breakfast. Although there is no restaurant at the hotel, there were several restaurants within five minutes walk.
Definitely has the potential to become a 5 star hotel. The main building is like a palace. Laying down by the side of the pond or play with the kid in the forest is outstanding. Picnic is also possible, even bbq place is well prepared.
