Hotel has been updated, just about everything is brand new, to include elevator. Large room with comfortable bed and a table with 2 chairs and a desk with 1 chair. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was amazing- one of the best we've had in our month long trip around Germany/Austria. Spa was nice, had a dry sauna (85C), a bio sauna (35C) and a very nice rest area with chairs and beds, kudos. Less than 1km from amazing hiking/run along river, did a 10miler every morning, loved it. Hotel is not on lake but it isn't too far away- had a nice dinner on lake, many good restaurants near by.
Located beside the beautiful Lake Kochelsee, this hotel offers indoor and outdoor spa facilities and spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. It lies in the Bavarian town of Kochel.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming - restaurant was a very pleasant surprise w the level of their food. Cute little town.
Kochel itself was cosy and picturesque. The lake ... is within walking distance. Those who wish can also visit Kristall Therme Trimini. Those who are interested in painting of the early 20th century, I advise you to visit the Franz Marc Museum. You can also reach by car or bus the beautiful mountain Walchensee.

I visited Kochel with the sole purpose of going to the Kristall Therme. It was totally worth it! The therme overlooks the lake and the surrounding mountains, the staff are extremely kind and helpful, and it is possible to drive or walk from any of the main hotels.
Kochel is best for outdoor adventure - cycling, hiking, skiing, etc. I walked around a bit and visited the Franz Marc Museum (pretty nice, actually), but I didn't do much else. Beware of bad weather and disrupted train schedules. I was stuck for part of the day because the trains couldn't run (debris from the storm on the train tracks) and the replacement bus couldn't get through (roads were closed also due to debris), so I had to take a very circuitous route back to Munich. It was possible though! And the mountains during snowfall was beautiful!

Great hotel overall, with very hospitable owners! Basically everything was great:
- very tasty breakfast with good selection of food, fresh bread (7:30–10:30)
- great sauna, with a relax room and snacks
- night snack (free!) and tea/coffee (around 2€) available at any time
- clean, comfortable rooms
Good breakfast till 11 am. The hotel is right in front of a relatively frequent road, but we had a room facing the mountains, so it was very quiet and a great view as a bonus. There is a big terrace as well. Free coffee / tea / mineral water was a nice touch. Check-out till 12 am is also nice.
very nice located hotel, directly at the lake with nice a wellness area and direct lake access, panorama breakfast salon and restaurant with direct view to the lake, very nice staff
