Simple, very friendly, and quiet, despite being in the centre of the village. I was very happy here, and it ticked all the boxes, but nothing extravagant.

The hotel was cozy, quiet, and Bavarian-style (which some may like and some may not). We had a small terrace in our room which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was great. There was not much choice for breakfast, but enough to fill the belly.

Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Always a smile and happy.
Location in the centre of town on the main road and easy to find.
Lovely place to sit and people watch from the terrace.
The lake is only a 10 to 15 minute easy walk and we'll worth it for the scenery.
I enjoyed my planned one night stay here enough that I booked an extra night.

Breakfast was excellent with a choice of various fruits, eggs, cheese, meats, and muesli. Good coffee. When the weather was good, we could eat breakfast outside under the trees and beside the meadow — a lovely experience. Our room was large, with a balcony, sofa, easy chair, table, and a well-designed bathroom. All in all a very good experience, and we would certainly stay there again.

Good location, in walking distance from train station and nice restaurants/cafes. The owners are very nice and courteous but no English speaking as far as I could gauge; good breakfast as I am sure others have mentioned.

The property looks fantastic and fancy, well designed, the parking space is enough for guests, the outside area has amazing view of Walchensee. The food is homemade and tasty, we were fully enjoyed.
Kochel itself was cosy and picturesque. The lake ... is within walking distance. Those who wish can also visit Kristall Therme Trimini. Those who are interested in painting of the early 20th century, I advise you to visit the Franz Marc Museum. You can also reach by car or bus the beautiful mountain Walchensee.

I visited Kochel with the sole purpose of going to the Kristall Therme. It was totally worth it! The therme overlooks the lake and the surrounding mountains, the staff are extremely kind and helpful, and it is possible to drive or walk from any of the main hotels.
Kochel is best for outdoor adventure - cycling, hiking, skiing, etc. I walked around a bit and visited the Franz Marc Museum (pretty nice, actually), but I didn't do much else. Beware of bad weather and disrupted train schedules. I was stuck for part of the day because the trains couldn't run (debris from the storm on the train tracks) and the replacement bus couldn't get through (roads were closed also due to debris), so I had to take a very circuitous route back to Munich. It was possible though! And the mountains during snowfall was beautiful!
I felt really comfortable Here. My room was cozy and the breakfast had a lot of food to choose from. I even got a card from the hotel, with which I could use the local bus for free. Great for solo travelers without car! After hiking during the day, I enjoyed delicious dinners in the restaurant every evening. Overall a super nice stay and incredibly good value for money. I will be back soon
The hotel is placed very close to the lake.
