Excellent warm staff greeting ( lovely young man , sorry can’t remember your name ) and introduction with recommendations for local eatery and Pubs . He loaned us a wine opener and ice and bucket .Comfortable beds chairs and view to mountains , extremely clean.

Hagen is not the most beautiful of towns. Seems to have fallen on hard times like a lot of towns in an Industrial area of the Country.
However as a location to get to other parts of the Ruhr valley it has excellent transport links to the other major towns and cities in the area

Run down boring city. 60s style. Suffering from underinvestment. Very poor facilities and venues. Untidy and dirty train station. Was there before in 70s. Nothing changed. Definite lack of funding. Resembles East German cities in 90s. A city left behind I think. Will not hurry back 2/10. Nothing that impressed me. Signs of urban degredation. Unfinished works. Road works. Shabby empty buildings. Untidy, unpainted empty shops. Planners require reeducated.
The apartment of Simon is close to the city center and the room was very good and clean. The host is a very friendly and helpful person, with whom you can even play some snooker games! I would recommend this apartment to anyone, who is looking for a place to stay for some days in Hagen! Gerne wieder!
