El centre històric comercial de Hagen està malauradament poc cuidat, tot i que té algun racó entranyable l Osthaus museum.
Els barris direcció a la universitat son residencials, amb jardins i cases luxoses, molt agradable per passejar s hi. Recomanaria allotjar-se al Campus hotel i anar i tornar del centre fent un passeig des d aquí. El centre poc recomanable per allotjar s hi. Per menjar el restaurant Rustika, el bar Cocodrile, l Ali kebab i el Capri pizza, per emportar casa.
