Nice rooms and facilities, clean and convenient. An interesting concept of informal communication (saying ‘du’ to everyone), self-cooked breakfast might be useful for people with special demands.

Friendly welcome with cake and sandwich. Very cosy entrance and room. Breakfast was delightful with staff in regional dress and a great array of food, well-presented. Dinner not available, but a few good restaurants just walking distance away. Quiet area - we awoke to cow-bells not far away (grazing just opposite the hotel). Parking virtually on site, very easy.

Very professional staff. Room was immaculately clean. We highly recommend the hotel restaurant-fantastic food and decent prices . No need to drive to Garmisch and search for parking.

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return.
The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Farchant is a gorgeous little village, really pleasant to walk around, with stunning scenery. Loads of local small businesses, pleasant square in front of the town hall, fantastic public transport to Garmisch , Oberammergau and Munich. The restaurant’s were also good. The Italian in the middle was a great price and really bust, we were lucky to get in as most tables were reserved. Bank has a cash point, there’s bakery (open early morning), pharmacy, ice cream parlour, shop, and various places to eat.
One thing you must know - there are NO shops open on Sundays. There are vending machines in different places to buy local products such as milk, eggs, meat and cheese, but if you’re arriving late Saturday, or Sunday, bring some food with you.
We ran out of time to try the pool and the local mountain walks, but the churches are lovely, the local historic walk is nice and it is so so quiet. A real rural idle but with great connections!
The local tourist card is also really useful, we more than got our moneys worth just using the buses!

My goal was to hike the Reichtal trail to the Zugspitze.
My goal was to hike the Reichtal trail to the Zugspitze. The starting point is not very well documented so I ended up missing the start time and hike other routes. There are wonderful routes to hike, but not quite the same.

Great little town and in a great location for local activities. We were near everything we wanted to do over the weekend. It was a quick drive to Eibsee, Partnachklamm Gorge, Ettal Abbey and the Alpine coaster. Wonderful restaurants in town also!

The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished. The hotel and rooms are very clean. We had a room with e very nice view. It is close to Garmish, you can get there easily by bus or car.
The family owning the hotel have been very helpful and nice.
The couple running the hotel is "on it", you notice they do it with passion and it's contagious. Breakfast was fantastic - one of the best ones I've had!
