This is a sweet little hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are good. There is a fridge with an ice tray in the room and a coffee maker. There is drinking water. There's a hairdryer. Perfect.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient for relaxing and enjoying the ocean. The breakfast was great, with a nice variety of options to start the day.
The entire property was spotless, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, offering everything needed for a relaxing stay. The pool was a wonderful bonus, providing a refreshing escape after a day in the sun.
One of the highlights of the stay was the lovely dog on-site, who added a unique and welcoming touch. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, always ensuring that we had everything we needed.

I spent 4 nights at Villas Kalimba with my kids (13 years old) and we loved it.
The villas are conveniently located across the street from a beach access which allowed everyone to come and go as they pleased, when they pleased.
The premises are cozy, well maintained, well equipped and offer a great relaxing atmosphere. It is a small compound where every villas has its privacy as well as having access to a pool and a good restaurant.
The staff is friendly, responsive and helpful.
From our standpoint, it was perfect and I would definitely go back there if I were to visit Samara again.

Yoga included every morning with Fredrica and a wonderfully healthy breakfast delivered to our apartment by Roberto. A lovely natural setting that created a feeling of peace and harmony and displayed the Pura Vida of Sámara. What a wonderful experience!

Nathan and his family are the best hosts we have had the opportunity to meet on our trip to Costa Rica! This accommodation is really worth it - amazing breakfast, equipped kitchen, coffee available all day. Nice pool and even better views. Their commitment is great and they did everything they could to make us enjoy our stay. 15 minutes to amazing beaches. We prefer Carrillo beach but others were also very nice.

Samara is a small beach town that is entirely walkable. It is not home to large resorts (which we like). We LOVED Carrillo beach (10 minute drive south of town) and I would rate it one of my all time favourite beaches in the world (extremely long beach with palm trees lining it for ample shade, beautiful sand, safe surf for kids and families, easy parking along the road, no parking fees, no resorts, no cruise ships, quiet - perfection!).

Not super built up with big name hotels. Quiet, laid back vibe. Lots of little bars and restaurants. Lots of expats to chat with as well as friendly locals.
Beach is beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Waves are fun to play in.
Would come back to Costa Rica, and visit Sámara again as well as explore other areas.

Samara is a fairly busy small town that has a lovely beach.
Samara is a fairly busy small town that has a lovely beach. There are many other beaches nearby. It has quite a few restaurants and cafes to choose from. Lots of great fish. Prices are "reasonable" by comparison with some fancier locations along the coast, but all prices in US dollars are high for Canadians.
Just two hours from Liberia airport, this town has a laid back feel. Not sure how long that will last.

Samara is a funky little beach town with lots of little eateries and shops, and a number of restaurants right on the beach undercover with enough variety to make it interesting. There were also enough activities and beaches in the area to enjoy.

The family who run the hotel are so warm, friendly and helpful, they gave us excellent advice and help with trips, taxis and transport. The hotel was relaxing and peaceful and the room was comfortable and clean. The position was perfect, near Carillo beach which is quieter than Samara but you are within easy distance for a visit.
A very cute place With a couple of houses. A little small rooms but love It how clean It is, the bathroom was perfect. Best shower we had in Costa Rica! Wonderfull breakfast every morning and a lovely view with Some animals from the neighbours. Nice pool to cool off! Lovely host.

Samara is a gem on the Costa Rican Pacific coast. One of our favourite towns and beaches in Guanacaste.
Villas Kalimba is one of the nicer places to stay in this town. I would not hesitate to stay here again on a return trip.
